The hardest part of making money on ebay is finding a product that will sell. There are so many products out there and so many sellers it can be quite hard to find the right one for you.

Most peoples concept of ebay is that your product has to be the cheapest to sell this is not true. Every product needs a unique selling point this can be anything from super quick postage to an expert opinion with in the product listing.

To begin looking for the right product for you you should take a long look at your interests and anything you look for on ebay but can't seem to find.

If you just want to make money with out all the agro of searching for a product you can check some great links on my website plus its free!

You can check magazine even the evening news for new trends - customers have a tendency to buy 'what's in'. When you notice a certain product being repeated several times in various forms of media you've found yourself a possibly great product. :)

You also try the following find out what is selling well on eBay:

1) Check out the popular searches and most popular products on eBay:

Popular searches: http://keyword-index.ebay.com/keyword-index.html
Best selling products: http://product-index.ebay.com/best_selling_1.html
eBay pulse: http://pulse.ebay.com/

2) Perform completed listings searches for products or brand names to see the conversion rate and average selling price.

To do a completed listings search, simply click the Advanced Search button next to the main eBay search box. Enter your search keywords as usual, and then check the Completed Listings box. Hit search and you'll see historical data for the previous 30 days. Successful items are in green; unsuccessful items are in red.

Hope that helps :)

Terapeak is a valuable tool and does offer its benefits. It is an extensive market research tool. It’s extremely useful – but even more so once you’ve actually got a sales history and some data to analyze.

But if you can afford to work full time on your business and want to reach powerseller status as quickly as possible, then perhaps you should look at Terapeak.

Hope that helps :)

I used to use Terrapeak. It's a great service however I found out eventually you don't really need it.
You simply need to understand which products are without doubt the right products to sell on eBay...

Looking For The Ideal Items To Sell On E-Bay?

How About a Sellers List of Popular Products in Low Supply!

Amazon is publishing a list for its third-party sellers of products that customers are shopping for that are out-of-stock on its marketplace. It's a clever and risk-free way for Amazon.com to fill out its line to quickly take advantage of demand but there is nothing to stop you taking advantage of knowing of a particular demand. If the demand is on Amazon then it is likely to be on E-Bay as well.

Go to the Amazon site and locate the page "Amazon Suggested Products", the list is huge!

That's right regfitz :) Amazon did launch this feature sometime in early July. It does give their sellers a bit of an edge but the chances of these things being on top of a customer's want/need-it list on eBay could still be relatively high. So one can still check this out and make reference, in case they don't sell on Amazon. Or maybe now the time to start selling there! :)

Here's the story on Amazon.com's Suggested Products: http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn/y10/m07/i09/s01
