I would recommend checking out a software tool like HammerTap to research various niches as well as listing styles. After having a consignment business for so long, we have sold thousands of different things and would be nowhere without analysis software like HT. Hope that helps. Thanks!

Getting items from yard sales is the easiest place. Most cities have yard sales and there are heaps of bargains if you look.

Make sure you negotiate HARD.

Designer clothing, electronics, and video games are some of the highest sellers.

Anytime I have visisted a so called wholesale product website I have found that the prices are still not low enough to compete on ebay.

It is easy to find that out by looking at the same item on ebay to see what it is selling for. I think the real profits are made by the sellers that purchase in very large bulk or have a direct connection possibly out of the US.

The best item to sell is the item YOU see a value in. This can be something you are interested in, something you just like for no reason at all. Ask yourself, would I buy that? if yes that is a start. Now reaserch the price it costs you, add the shipping(cost of box/padding), add the fees the auction site charges, any taxes or duties. Now using this number, search for items simmilar, do not look at the "asking"price, find out what the item sold for. now go to other auction sites and do the same search too!
If the price you get is in the same "region" as your latest searches, you may have a winner.
remember if you would buy it, other people will buy it, but at a fair price!
Most of the trendy stuff... you would never buy anyway!

There is no best item. Most powersellers I know don't sell anything unique. They simply have trustworthy wholesale supplier who can give them a wicked deal. It's all about the markup. eBay and paypal take a lot of fees. So make sure you can markup your items. I would say at least 100%.

Hi Sgllocal. Which eBooks are best to sell? and is there money to be made selling them on eBay or is it better to create a website?

I think, that to sell ebooks is best way how to earn first money

eBooks are no longer allowed to be sold on eBay UK. On eBay US, you can still sell them but they have to be in the classfied ads section.

I go with the above recommendation of getting software to hunt the niche areas for you.

Its the same with anything, you can think you have a hot idea and all along there just isnt the demand for it.

Software will highlight the figures long before you invest money in it.

Hello everyone,

I found Auction Cut to be a good site for seller. Well eBay offers an online platform where millions of items are traded each day, so it is very difficult for me to decide which is the best item to sell on eBay....

This is really a tough question to answer. There really is no one thing that will always sell and make you money on eBay. Many people will tell you to sell electronics or high end stuff. That may work for them, but that does not mean it will work for you. What you really need to do is find out what you like to sell and see if there is market for it.

Just because you want to sell something doesn't always mean there are people willing to pay you for it. So you really need to do some research and see if there are hungry buyer waiting to give you their money for the item you are selling.

I would actually tell you start selling "one of" items. These are the type of items that are either out of print, rare, or vintage. You know the stuff that are considered collectibles. I'm sure there are many people looking to buy items that are no longer in the retail market.

I can't tell you a specific item to sell. I can only help you find what items may work for you.One thing you have to remember about the answer to your question. If someone really knew what the best thing to sell on eBay, do you really think they would tell you.

Here is to your success.
