Early 2009, I found myself without transportation. On one of my 2 1/2 mile walks to a grocery store, I noticed a guy riding a bicycle with a motor on it, so I searched on line and found several good deals, and the one I am about to tell you about.

A listed schwinn bicycle was listed (80cc) and the seller claimed that it worked just fine. He sold it for 250 dollars and included free shipping, so after some thought, I sent him an email via ebay messaging service, and asked him flat out what was the cosmetic, mechanical, and physical condition of the bike. He responded that he was currently riding it and everything worked fine.

So ... I ordered it.

When it arrived, as myself and the UPS driver were unloading it, we discovered a lot of damage to the box, but cound not tell if anything was wrong with the bike or the motor.

The driver made a note listing the damage, and I put the bike together after he left and told him if there were problems, I would be in contact.

First off, the bike had two gear controls, one being a three speed step up, and a seven speed fine control. Only the three speed step up worked. The other one was toast.

The clutch handle was broke and was worthless. The gas tank leaked, plus the fuel filter was broken.

Ther was no attempt by the seller to pad or otherwise isolate parts from banging into each other on the trip from New York to Florida.

The engine did run, only because I am good with engines, but all of the other faults negated that.

I called UPS and reported a damaged item. I then called Ebay and reported the item had been listed with misleading description.

UPS picked up the package (This time I packed it correctly) and within 24 hours found it necssary to award me as the winner of the claim and THEY refunded the whole $250.00 that I had shelled out for it.

The sellers name is Dimitiry Artemov. He lives in Brooklyn, NY

He immediately started to harass me and demand that I send him the $144.XX dollars he had spent to ship me a pile of junk. That started on FEB 20, 2010, and this guy has tried to put me in collection agencies (who backed off when I gave them the Ebay case number, and still harasses me via PayPal messaging demanding payment.

At one point he hijacked my email address ... and at one time fraudulently claimed to be an attorney.

My reason for posting this is to warn in advance anyone thinking of doing business with this guy.

I hope this helps someone.
