If you're looking for things to sell on eBay, or simply don't have anything to sell, this website gives you stuff at wholesale prices. You then sell them on ebay for a nice profit.

www.salehoo.com

I've sold all the useless junk lying around my house, and now am getting all my inventory from them.

Definitely worth checking it out! :-D

Is this limited to the US only, or does it offer UK products as well?

I never used the site, but they do run an affiliate program though clickbank so I'm guessing they're legit. I can't see clickbank sticking by them if they're selling bookleg goods.

However, the front page of the site describes it as a "Wholesale Directory and Wholesale Sources Portal" so most likely they redirect you to others wholesales and suppliers rather than selling you the items directly.

Yeah, I joined a while ago. They are just a Directory so they don't actually have products. They just give you a way to search and sort through, rate, review possible wholesale merchants. I tried a few of them but still, in all honesty my best luck came from simply buying my goods off eBay. eBay is like the best wholesale market, haha, that's the problem. Half the time you find something you might be interested in selling from a wholesale merchant then go look on eBay and someone is actually selling it for less??? haha, what gives.
Your best overall strategy is to buy from eBay, you can find bulk for some products then turn around and sell individual units. When you buy don't forget to use your BigCrumbs account to reduce your bottom line in terms of cost. Also if you have a eBay store list your store with BigCrumbs and also open a eCrater Store Front and try to move some merchandise that way. Don't get stuck on eBay selling, I mean these are free services so use them. If you can find free exposure don't limit yourself.
good luck

Like what mfalk75 pointed out, we are not a dropshipper and we don't stock products rather, we are a product-sourcing company that offer a directory of verified suppliers (wholesalers, dropshippers, manufacturers and liquidators) of thousands of products. Aside from that, we also provide our members with helpful resources and tools for both beginning and professional online sellers.

Indeed, eBay can be considered a 'Wholesale Marketplace' and it is not uncommon to find a product being sold lower than the 'wholesale' price. This is because wholesalers sell direct to the public through eBay. These sellers are capable of buying in HUGE quantities direct from the manufacturers or through liquidators where they get goods for pennies on the dollar.

So to compete, it would be best to find a good niche market with less competition. To find a good niche market, you may start out by selling stuff from around the house that you no longer need and do a Completed Listings Search (by typing the keyword in the Search Box and clicking on the 'Advanced Search' link beside the Search button). Check out the sell-through rate and the average selling price of this product. Note that you must be able to source this product at at least 20% lower than retail to make money.

There are a lot of good niche markets just waiting to be uncovered. Plus, online shopping is getting more and more popular. I am very positive that online selling will not go out of style any time soon. There will always be hope for a beginning / small seller!

All the best,
