Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and online auctions in general. I'm a computer programmer and I've become very interested by the eBay Web developer services and am looking to build an application for eBay users. I want to build something useful so I'm hoping some of you might help me out and share your thoughts!

My initial idea is to build a listing application which is simple and easy to use - I've seen that there are a lot of applications that do this but I'm wondering if any of them are perfect or could be improved on. My application would be web based and hopefully free to use.

So what I'd really like to know is if you could have your dream eBay application, what would it let you do and how? I find eBay fascinating and would enjoy the challenge of building something around it.

Being able to schedule your listings would be good, at the moment you have to join eBay's Selling Manager Pro and pay a monthly fee to get that service.

Thanks for that Paula.

Should this integrate with the turbo lister, or just something yourself where you can write out some listings, and time when they are uploaded?

Cheers.

I think a web based schedualed (sp?) listing app would be a good idea.

The only problem I can think of is the selling cost, you wouldn't be able to sell for anything more than the cost of SMP or they would just use that instead! Maybe a free limited version that restricts the amount of listings you can schedule and a paid version with unlimited listings. Or maybe a 100% free version plastered with your ad's

How about an option that gives you the top search words in each category before i submit. So, if I'm listing a ford it will give me a list of top words searched for in the ford category & I can insert some of these into my title for great exposure.

If it's going to be web-based, though, would there not be some leaway on the price? Rafaelnaf would presumably host and take any advertising revenue, etc.

I love the idea of top key/search words so you can amend you title and add a few to the description

this is great, thanks guys. I wonder if eBay's API lets you find out about search queries? Have been geeking up on the documentation, it's quite complex!

Anything else out there that could greatly save you some time? Would you want anything that lets you list to the other auction sites as well?

Ebay's API definatly let's you find out the top queries for each catagory. I have some software that does just that!

That would be great if you could have the top key words displayed as you were typing out the listing!

I've recently signed up to the eBay affiliate system, after learning through work how to extract and manipulate data from files into useful reports.

I have a few ideas, but just want to brush up on some XML programming skills.

The search facility has quite an extensive list of verbs available for searches such as GetKeywords and GetShipping info, both of which could prove invaluable to sellers.
