I have been looking at growing my eBay activity, and have enquired about importing "simple" items from overseas, which may be of interest to people in the UK.

I spotted someone selling Egyptian Lamps, and he seems to be doing very very well.

I have not spotted "that" product yet, but it will be something very common overseas, but not readily available over here.

Yes, I agree with you. I think you have to have a great product that is fairly uncommon to your area. I think another 'safe' product that would do well is taking a common product and changing it a little so that it's 'better' than the one that's out now.

Why make it more complicated than it is - find a popular product which is not being sold, and find a supplier, simple.

Of the success stories I have read about, it is the simple ideas which make good money. The beauty is that as you sell more, you can buy more, with hopefully a greater discount from your suppliers.

It's not easy eBod. If it's as simple as that then I would be very rich by now.

I heard of someone who sold cellphones to the US from our country. He was able to buy a brand new car from his endeavor. Man, I wish I could do that.
