i am new to ebay and have no idea on how to ship things. i need information on how to ship things at the postal office. also when you go to ebay and look at items you see the price of the item and the price of shipping. does the the buyer send you the shipping money and then you take it to the postal office and pay the fees for the shipping. or how does it work.

As a buyer you would pay the price of the auction and the shipping in a combined payment. The seller then makes arrangements packaging the item securely and then taking the package to a post office or arranging for a courier to deliver it.

If you are new to this, take the time to make sure your shipping price is accurate, and if you have a handling fee, make sure you advise it in your ad, don't ask for the extra payment once the auction has closed. It is important to do your homework on this. You can lose a lot of money if you don't take the time to calculate shipping costs accurately.

You need to get a shipping scale so you can weigh your package and use eBay's shipping calculator. The buyer will pay the shiping charges listed on the auction as well as any extra handling fees.
