What is the best method anyone has found to draw traffic to your Ebay store?

Plenty of eBay store owners are now listing on MySpace and building up distribution lists that way, by targetting other eBay users and eBay related pages.

It's als worth sending a few friend requests to celebrities, thenleaving a thank-you comment with a clickable link to your Store - I got nearly 1000 clicks when Kelly Osborne added me to her friends list, and Jo Whiley 'off of' Radio 1 provides a fair number of browsers!

Using eBay itself, it's worth paying for a featured listing that catches lots of attention, but fill it full of links to your shop items as well. Also make sure you have all the shop navi-links on the left side of each listing, so anyone who sees one of your listings is more likely to click through to the rest.

I use several methods.

1. I got a unique url that is easy to remember and takes people to a separate website with a link on it to my ebay store.

2. I had a magnetic car sign made up at a local sign shop that advertises that unique url so anywhere I drive, my ebay store gets looked at. (especially during the day time in heavy traffic)

3. I include links to my ebay store as an e-mail signature in all my communications to buyers, friends and business associates.

4. I had business cards made up and include one in every package I mail out.

5. During holiday seasons, I wear a tee shirt with my url on the back and wear it when I go to the MALLS. I simply walk around and lots of people see the website address.

6. Every time I make a sale, I collect my buyer's email and put them in a database. I then send out a small once a week ad to them to inform them of new items in my store that week.

7. I send a business card out in all the bills I have to pay through regular mail. You never know who might be interested.

8. I post on a few FREE advertising sites.

9. I place flyers in places like laundry mats, check cashing places, college bulletin boards etc...

10. I tell people that I sell on Ebay and if the opportunity presents itself I hand them a business card.

I simply try to think of new, creative and different ways of driving traffic to my store that I can personally think of or learn from reading what other successful ebay sellers are doing.

Hope that helps.

Would, not that be considered spamming? I would ,ike to do this but was always afraid. Espeecailly with the canned spam act.

Maybe the email can contain an opt out?

What are your thoughts?

I understand your concerns and they are valid. As long as you are contacting ONLY buyers that have previously purchased from you in the past, ebay does not consider this spamming. Also, contact them through their personal email address, NOT the Ebay system. That way, you can include the live "Opt out" link.

At the top of each ad (the very first thing they read) I always include text and a link that allows the buyer to "Opt Out" of any further newsletters, ads or communications from me. (I have had a few folks do that.) That way you are protected. As you probably know, spamming is when you are trying to solicit business from someone whom you have never contacted (or done business with before.) As long as they have purchased from you before and you give them an option to "Opt out" your not violating any rules. This is the way a lot of people on ebay get repeat customers.

Hope that helps

What "Opt-out" link?

I do many of the methods you have listed but I am still having difficulty building a list, and sometimes even getting people to provide feedback...

I'm glad I stumbled across this site.
