Hi all!
This is my first time posting here but I feel it is something that needs to be shared with all ebay buyers. I bought some Big Day Out tickets at the beginning of the year from a seller on ebay who I believed to be legitimate, after the seller was really helpful with questions asked through ebay and giving out her mobile phone number for me to contact her directly.
Before purchasing the tickets I had numerous conversations with her and was not suspicious of anything at all. The money was transferred and she contacted me to let me know she had received the money and would be posting the item by registered post at no extra cost. After a few weeks I hadn’t received anything and tried to contact her numerous times both by email and phone with no such luck. I ended up opening a dispute resolution through ebay which she did not respond too and nothing was ever done about it.
I spoke to some ebay representatives through live chat who were really helpful, even though they didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear… which was “don’t worry we’ll get your money back”. They did tell me to report it to the police though which I did immediately. Being in different states and covered by different jurisdictions makes things even more difficult.
Everyone please be VERY careful when purchasing anything off ebay, especially tickets to festivals/concerts. There are obviously people out there who see it as an easy scam to make a couple of hundred dollars. I lost $600 and am still trying to recover it. This chick lives in WA so first of all, be extra careful of sellers in this state. Sorry to all those legitimate people from this state but there are some scum bags that have given you all a bad name and now we all need to be extra careful.
If anyone loses money in any way and ebay can’t do anything to help I cant’ stress enough how important it is to report it. The police won’t do anything about only 1 report, they need a couple of complaints about one person for them to investigate it.
This chick knows exactly what she did and even when we were able to out smart her and she answered her phone and we asked for the money back she kept saying “there was a problem with this” or “I thought I had fixed everyone up already” or “my bank has already transferred the money”… the excuses were endless. She knows we reported her to the police and still didn’t care about it even though she pretended too. That’s because she thought she could get away it for it. Unlucky for her, I now know that she is being investigated and she is going to regret not giving back the $600 when she is charged for fraud and has a criminal record for the rest of her life but if you ask me… that’s not even enough!! Stupid b1tch knows what she did was wrong and she knew she had no tickets in the first place.
If anyone has ever had this problem, then report it… it’s the only way we can fight back against them. It’s a shame that there are a lot of legitimate sellers out that are doing the right thing, but for your own protection treat every seller as this chick who ripped me off and make sure you get what you paid for.
Karma is already coming back on this chick and all I can say is she deserves every little bit of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUYERS BEWARE and take every precaution possible even if they seem 100% legitimate. |
