Seems like all internet auctions are going to hell.

EBAY announced that they are no longer going to allow sellers to accept checks or money orders.

I am a buyer and I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO USE PAYPAL!

I have several reasons.
1. I do not want PayPal to have access to my personal bank account information
2. PayPal will not allow me to make a payment through my credit card as my first and only option.
3. I am never going to shop on eBay again after Oct. They have screwed the buyer too many times.
Everything is going to be Google Check out or Amazon. The only eMail I plan on sending a seller is if they ever list "items like this" on other sites, like Amazon or Google Check out.

It is possible to have Paypal account with credit card only, no bank account. If you pay and have no fund, they will always default to credit card. Be prepared to get lots of nag screen asking you to add bank info.

I'm also quitting selling on FleeceBay because of the high FVF, scams, etc. Not to mention mnaking PayPal required even if you list auction that are pickup only. Pickup only + PayPal payment = no shipping info = easy scam for buyers.

I do plan to keep one account open just for buying hard to find stuff but that's it.

I agree completely with everything Super_Buyer said.
Year by year ebay has gotten worse - more invasive, more restrictive, less friendly, and more arrogant. That may make it tougher on a few rotten apples, but it also ruins things for the best customers.
ebay has nothing nice or unique to offer anymore, so after 7 years I'm done with ebay!

yes, not only does ebay make themself a monolpoly(doesn't allow google checkout), it seems they only want their own systems which is horrible and has flaws. They give buyers their money and their product, my latest goof was I sold diabetic strips, they opened the package and paypla allowed them to return it so i closed my bank account, let them try to collect.

what i am suppose to do with open product that is suppose to remain sterile?

Any ebay related company, i suggest staying away from and that includes half.com and shopping.com

I just wish eBay never formed a partnership with Paypal to begin with. Moneybookers is the best payment processor out there. It does all the things right paypal does wrong.

i agree. ebay and paypal totally sucks. other payment methods i would totally prefer is google checkout and amazon payments.

i've been using iOffer a bit now, and they also have Mpayy, with a $5 bonus for new accounts. Free money, I'm there!

Give Google Checkout a year or 2 and I think the Paypal monopoly will be taken down :)

Google checkout is fast becoming a reliable alternative to paypal. I think we need a very good alternative to ebay too..

Ebay is a classic case of a monopoly being slowly destroyed by an incompetent management. Their theory of "my way or the highway" is failing as proved by the horrendous drop in traffic to ebay. Ebay is trying to pretend this isn't happening but all sellers have seen their sales plummet recently as less people visit Ebay.
Less people = less sales = already annoyed sellers becoming more annoyed.
In my opinion eBay deserve all they get. When it finally comes crashing down the people responsible will no doubt run to the hills with all the money they've managed to fleece from a once great concept that they've destroyed.
“Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”
