Does anyone know if there are any other auction sites which are trying to compete with ebay? I thought there may be some trying to break into this area and perhaps a little competition would drive the charges down for sellers?

this website if free for seller and buyer

According to Alexa Ratings...ecrater has a rank of 8,500 compared to eBay's 18...so it may be a good start to searching on other venues..especially if its free...

:-D Just do a google or yahoo search for "online auctions", it will bring up many many options. The problem is that ebay and amazon rule the roosts. Too many people do not want to give other sites an opportunity. I don't pay too much attention to alexa rankings and such. People can often lists their items for free on many sites, why not work ebay and try some others that are free. Before these large companies can have competition, there has to be people willing to try other smaller sites.

my opinion is why look at other auction sites (unless you are looking to flip)? ebay has the most people to sell to

:-D [color=darkblue]Tyler, you are absolutely right. The buyers are at e-bay, so naturally they have more sellers there. The problem lies in them, the other auction sites being the rulers of the roost. Many people are tired of e-bay, our records indicate about 30% of all sellers are looking for an alternative. But, again the same wall. Not enough buyers.

I am simply saying, continue to sell on the heavy hitter sites and earn your money. But, while you are at it, you can list on free sites to try and boost your sales, and maybe create a bit of friendly competition while you are at it.

Thank you for the post.
