| One of the first items I sold on eBay was a watch I purchased from bid-up tv (now bid tv) As soon as it arrived, I listed it on eBay & made a nice £20 profit. If only I'd have bought 200 of them I'd have made a nicer profit. I saw the potential of eBay straight away after this. |

What first introduced me to eBay, is a video game. I was looking for a video game from several years ago. Actually I was mainly searching for it's title because I wanted to see if it had been released in the free open source directory at the rom site. I winded up builing my first account on eBay as a buyer and that was for video games for an older console from Nintendo.
I have been enjoying eBay every since then. I'm glad I found it and made use of it and for the most part the people I deal with on there are pretty cool. |

Back in the day I did a bit of DJ'ing, and decided to sell up after the kit had been sat around for a few years.
I bought a few DVD's to get my feedback up, then listed the decks, mixer, amp, and sold them all firts time orund at a price I was happy at. I then stared selling off over 300 CD's - some very very rare and collectible ones amongst them.
The other half then decided to sell anything that wasn't nailed down, and we continued like this for a year or so. A few months ago I realised i knew a few people in the wholesale trade that I could call in some favours with, and bought some digital cameras from them, and then some clothes, and then some gift items. My shop has been open for a few weeks now, and it is a nice little side-earner as I work full time as well. |

Hi
I first bought something and then decided that i'd try and make enough each month to pay for my Broadband.
Since then it's become a little bit of a bug.
I look in the shops and then invariably find it cheaper on ebay.
I've only been scammed once, and that was only for 99p.
Wish they'd look at the fees for selling low cost items |

| I first started out as a buyer looking for stuff that i desired but were quite expensive in shops, I think the first item i bought was a 512MB memory card for my nokia 6230i at the time they were selling in shops for around £50 i bought mine for £28 including P&P. The first thing i sold on eBay was a pair of nike total 90 trainers. Since starting out i've sold thousands of items from DVD's to eBooks and Memory sticks to Laptops. My feedback score is now over 3000. I'm permanantly on the look out for new products to sell, thanks to eBay i've made thousands of pounds since starting out about 1 year ago. |

| I was looking for a cheap DVD. I found one but the seller wants a buyer with a positive feedback. I began selling ebooks then. After that, I became addicted to selling ebooks. I sold hundreds. Really. It was my addiction back then. When I saw the potential, I started selling some of the stuff I don't care about anymore. Now, I'm selling electronic gadgets. |

I bought a birthday present for my little brother, then a few weeks later I sold a couple things around the house and I was hooked after that. |

| I started on eBay by pure accident wanted to get rid of things but did not want to sit in the hot sun waiting for people to come by, so i sold all of my items on eBay and did quite well, then I decided to do it more and it became a regular stream of income have not looked back since. |

| I was looking for a product at a better price than retail (can't remember the item, but it was probably a dvd). Then I started selling old dvd's that I no longer wanted. Bought a few items to sell on ebay, but found that shipping, ebay & paypal fees ate up the profit. I would like to sell ebooks, so I'm getting back into ebay. |

I collect coins, and back in 2000, I was browsing sites like eBay and thought I saw an opportunity to buy and sell coins on eBay - I was wrong - didn't know much about business back then, but I ended up getting hooked on this whole online auction thing, and started looking for other opportunities.
The next time around I sold CDs and actually made money. Eventually I got into the surplus equipment business, and while it can be a lot of work, it can also be quite profitable. I ended up using eBay to help pay my college tuition until I quit to run my business full time.

I started in 1998 with the furby craze, buying on eBay, reselling on
Yahoo. But what really got me going was...
When I was a kid I was the biggest baseball card collector.
Then back in 1999, I was walking to my office and passed a
baseball card/comic book store and stopped in (old habits).
When I saw that they started putting pieces of the players jerseys
and autographs in the packs I asked what a pack cost - when I
was told $5 for 5 cards I could not believe it.
I went to the office searched online and found yahoo auctions and
ebay selling the packas/boxes for much less and like the furbies,
there was a spread between the sites.
The rest is history.
Best,
Aryeh |
