|
|
Ebay Pulse, offers a a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks and cool stuff on eBay. You can find it at: http://pulse.ebay.co.uk
One of the benefits of eBay pulse is it allows you to see some of the most popular keywords which members are searching for.
If you find a large number of users searching for a term that is relevant to your item, it would be wise to include the term in the title of your auction. By default when a member searches on eBay, the system only searches for the specified keyword in item titles - not in the item description.
Ebay pulse also allows you to see the most searched for keywords in each ebay category. You can select this by selecting the relevant category from the pull down menu.
On some categories you can choose to go deeper, viewing the popular keywords in sub-categories.
If used correctly. you can use eBay pulse to drive more traffic to your auctions. Remember to only include terms within your ebay auction title if the term is relevant to your item. Otherwise, you run the risk of eBay pulling your auction for keyword spamming. |

Nice work!
It's also worth keeping an eye out for the pulse across different ebay sites such as ebay.com, ebay.com.au etc - to pick up regional variations of keywords for the same item. |

We did some research using the sellathon tool at sellathon.com on custom computers. Interestingly, most people used the category search - only 15% typed in a keyword to search

That is interesting, traditionally it's been the other way round with most people doing an eBay keyword search. Perhaps we're seeing a change then in the way people use eBay. |
