I think Paypal is the very best payment option for buyers and sellers. Am just wondering why its so difficult for international sellers to get the money in their balance. They should have a US bank account which is difficult to obtain for foreigners.

I always assumed it was a very secure site. Can you give more detail as to why you say it isn't.
Cheers

If it's not secure, is there any other better payment gateways that does not require any initial payments or registration fees??

How can you say that Paypal is not very secure ??? What exactly has been your problem. Try to remember no system is perfect and setbacks can occur.

I think that Paypal is by far the best available online payment system available at this time. It makes buying and selling on eBay adoddle. Easy, and quick . . . what more could you wish for.

But I really dont know where not secure comes from ???

It is as technologically "secure" as any major finance organisation, but in the sense if it is a "secure" way to send or receive money then it has some serious flaws.

Seller Protection is only offered if the Buyer has a Confirmed address, BUT this is only established AFTER the payment has been received. Surely a seller should be able to dictate bidding terms to prevent these people form using paypal as a method of payment, instead insisting on bank transfer or cash on collection?

Likewise, even if an item has been sent to a confirmed address with proof of postage, there is effectively no protection against fraudulent card use, or chargebacks. Even though Paypal are the processers, the recipient/seller is still held responsible if the card is stolen.

As a Buyer sending money, then unless the auction is marked with the £500 PP logo, then there is only a small chance of any comeback if things go wrong, and even then it is only a maximum of £150. It is all too easy to set up false accounts on Paypal just long enough to receive funds from a scam auction and transfer them out for laundering.

That said, it is still the only cost effective and simple way to send or receive money through eBay sales. (but that's only because of monopoly status!)

Even before the monopoly situation existed I do feel that PayPal was head and choulders avove all the other online payment processors . . . without.

I know accounts were frozen and things got tuff with PayPal . . . but that was then, and this is now.

I beleive that most of the stories spread across many forums complaining about PayPal were the result of wrong or unacceptable action on the behalf of the PayPal user.

It stands to sense . . . if folk are not prepared to toe the line then it is most likely there will be penalties to pat.

I am in China, now Paypal allowes Chinese members to retract their funds in Paypal to their bank account in China via wire transfer, but the handling fees are high, it is US$35 each transfer, and when the money arrives at the bank account, we have to pay an other fee to exchange foreign currency into Chinese Yuan! But, up to now, Paypal is the best method for international traders on auction sites.
