Hi
I've have recently stated out looking into ebay & would like any advice on how I can make some extra cash. Been looking into selling ebooks, or registering as a consignment seller - selling other peoples goods for a fee.
Any advice for starting would be helpful

| As your new to ebay, I know that you need feedback of 50 to register as a consignment seller. I know one consignment sellers who charges 30% of the final sales price and they seem to be doing well from it. |

Yes - With eBay in the UK you need a minimum feedback score of 50 to qualify as a T.A. You could still sell for friends/family without registering as an official T.A until you are able to register properly.
eBooks are always profitable, but it's easy for a product to have it's price driven down by un-professional sellers. Ideally you need to be continually looking out for new releases to sell before others obtain them. |

I have been told the best way to get feedback quickly is to purchase say 100 items at 1p that all have no shipping charge!!!
But how do you find everybody with items for only 1p with no extra costs? I have tryed and tryed and have only found afew.
Also I can't see how this is proffitable for the seller!! I mean isn't there a minimum fee for sellin gon eBay of 15p per item? |

eBay views this as feedback solicitation & will ban you within days! It's one of the most unforgivable things you can do on eBay. I've saw a lot of users banned for this - and to appeal against it is almost impossible.

Try searching for "feedback". Some sellers will advertise for example, "eBook plus positive feedback for every purchase". Again eBay are very quick to clamp down on these kinds of listings - I've done it myself in the past & had the listing pulled within hours. |

Jules,
I just authored a new course for selling on eBay. I think my free mini course would be a great place for you to start. I give a quick action plan for getting your eBay business started quickly. I think you will find it beneficial.
As far as building feedback, I would suggest concentrating on purchasing inexpensive items. Not necessarily all 1 penny...but in that range. The main thing is to pay promptly and always be courteous when interacting with other eBayers.
I would also recommend selling a few lower priced items. This will help build your feedback and vary your eBay activity. It will also give you a chance to "get your feet wet" and learn eBay.

There's a woman that runs a 'Penny Arcade auction mall' on eBay where you can buy and get 50 penny ebooks (and feedbacks from 50 different sellers) within minutes. I used it (auction #280048306351) and it works. Super time saver.[/quote] |

| Hi , I work on Ebay Full time in the UK and it is in my opinion the best way to make a living...I have just started a sideline in analyzing Ebay listings and Ebay Shops with the view to help Ebayers improve their sales. This is something I actiually do as opposed to selling a Generic Ebbok covering the subject. | Although 1p auctions are not safe in the slightest the safest way to to go about it is by selling the 1p ebooks rather than buying them. sure you have to pay £7 to open a shop for a month but i did this and you can go from 0 - 3000+ feedback in less than a month. I have done this and didn't get any warning from ebay but i guess all it takes is for someone to report you. |

The most pathetic about ebay is you will be kicked out/scammed/badly rated etc before you understand anything. I am not discouraging you . Please go through the learning center (its free) you will get the right direction |
