Links are allowed in auctions only if they are there to display more photos of the item or to provide further description.

I beleive not, however if you have an about me page, you can put your URL there and drive traffic to your website because Google will index you quicker due to the ebay link - Power to Ebay!!

As a side note, I have seen "stores" on ebay with url, email in the auctions as there contact details - maybe ebays turning a blind eye to this because they are spending lots in fees

I wouldn't want to add my email address due to spam bots... If you were to, I would recommend creating an image file with your email since it would prevent some bots from getting the "text".

You are allowed to post your e-mail address in your auction - but only once. I would include your e-mail address if it includes your website URL.

You can only put a URL in an auction if it does not link to a sales page but a site that helps describe your product more. You CAN put a link in your About Me page.

Basically, eBay does not want you to direct any traffic from them to your own site (for obvious reasons). You can only link to pictures and further descriptions of your product. If they think the link will leads to sales outside of eBay, they will remove your listing. It also depends on their moderators' mood. Sometimes they are very strict, sometimes they are not. Like Frank said, you can place a link in your About Me page, and in your description you can say something like "please visit my about me page for more information". You don't want to be more specific or they will remove your auction.
