I was also reading on the DOBA site.....

One thing that concerned me was the shipping time. Seems like everything on DOBA is at LEAST a 3-day wait before item is shipped.. Some items are even 5+ days....

Is this the norm for drop shipping??

How is such a shipping delay viewed by the purchasing public??

Thanx for the reply..

I've no experience of Doba so can't comment.

I would recommend SaleHoo. My only concern of such sites is users who purchase membership and never put the information to good use. However, we can't put any blame on SaleHoo for such things.

It's a shame you wasn't with us a few months back, when we gave away membership to SaleHoo in an AuctionCUT competition.

Yea, it was actually your review, Mark, that got me seriously considering drop shipping..

That and the fact that I have pretty cleaned out all my personal stuff to sell, and am not wanting to give up on EBAY selling. :D

But the shipping delay really concerns me.. It's my intent to keep things on the folksy "just clearing out a few things" level, but am not sure how I can do that with a 3-5+ day shipping delay...

I have also got a plethora (10+) of XBOX Media Systems that I want to be able to move as well...

I don't want to give away the same prize twice, as it has the potential to devalue any competitions we run especially if members feel we're going to give away the same prize more than once. However, all I can say at this stage is watch this space Wink We've a HUGE competition being planned.

Obviously this forum does have the capability to do that, however to give away membership to Salehoo or membership to another paid site to members who have made x number of posts would cost the forum quite a bit.

Membership to Salehoo is $67 - even if we purchased it though our own affiliate links if would still lose us money overall considering the fact AuctionCUT is an ad revenue sharing forum.

However, I am considering plans for a forum that is only viewable for members with more than X number of posts. This would contain genuine & verified supplier details and could (based on your suggestion) also offer specific examples of researched items you can sell from these suppliers.

The problem is limited competition always exists, and once published - even in a private forum, any products published could flood the market and wipe out any potential profit.

Watch this space to see what develops Very Happy

You can find free useful info from salehoo. You can also submit for the member to get access to wholesale/dropshipper directory.
