I've had some real problems lately on having an auction run, and in the end, the buyer flaking and not paying.

Ebay is 'supposed' to be good about compensating back for this type of thing if you go through their process and file a claim, but I had one occasion where I never got a refund.

The non paying bidders have even had reputable feedback - this seems to be a growing problem, from my experience at least.

I agree, this can become a big problem especially if you get a few non paying bidders in a row it can really hurt your sales.

The procedure in having your final sales fee refunded is unnecessary slow & eBay does little to encourage buyers to complete the process.

Perhaps, all new members should have to complete a tutorial on buying/selling practises before they become a full member.

Im sorry to hear you are having that type of problem. I have sold quite a few things on Ebay over the years and haven't ran into that problem yet, knock on wood....

There are many ways how someone can get a good reputation rank in ebay. One can ask many internet mates to put a positive feedback for him...I believe that the common sense and feeling - do you trust a person or not - are still first to consider.

In my experience ebay has always been really good on refunding the Final Value Fees (FVF), in regards to auctions that result in non-paying bidders. You simply have to file an "unpaid item dispute", and 8 days later you can close the dispute and get your money back

I agree with redbird, ebay has been quite alright with the refund of FVF.
