ANTI SPAM MEASURE AT AUCTIONCUT.COM

Unfortunately we have recently been getting several individuals opening multiple accounts at AuctionCUT purely to post generic responses to our topics with irrelevant links in their signature. Due to this abuse, we have now implemented limitations on all new user registrations.

Any new users to AuctionCUT now have to make 15 posts before a signature is permitted.

Although this is a high number of posts, compared to other forums who have introduced similar measures I believe it will discourage spammers who would otherwise try and avoid the measure. I also believe the introduction of this measure will lead to better discussion at AuctionCUT rather than users simply replying to posts only to display signature links.

I back this move - I'm forever deleting accounts created with signatures for sunglasses, plants, & even ceramic dogs. These things have absolutely nothing to do with auctions so I guess they are just created to get a free back link. Let's force these spammers out and get on with some relevant discussion.
