WOW! Mark and Auctionent seems like you to are serious. Do you get a lot of traffic from the articles site?

Auctionman, how do you find out about loss leader products? How much do you lose on each product or do you just sell them at value?

Hi Beerman

Most of my website traffic comes from ezinearticles. The best thing however is the backlinks you get which boosts search engine ranking, so its hard to monitor how much traffic one article can bring you.

Some articles get picked up by high traffic sites and that generates a lot of traffic.

Thanks auctionent. I'll have to try it out as I'm trying to get more bids to my ebay items. Can I use the site to get views to my auctions or is it only to websites?

You could link to your eBay store to increase exposure. eBay power seller planetsms uses that strategy very effectively.

As James (auctionent) mentions article marketing can be used to increase exposure to your ebay store - or your eBay items. I'm sure myself and James both highly recommend it, this forum gets well over 10% of it's traffic from ezinearticles.com alone.

It would be great if anyone who writes articles could add my article site to their submission database -- I'm always on the lookout for good quality stuff - and there's an eBay category in the Home Business section (see my sig for website url).

Sure. I'd be happy to upload some articles to your site.

New to the forum,

How is the challenge doing Auctionmen, Auctionent and AuctionCUT?

My 2007 ebay goals are to get my money back from a seller who didn't send the goods! I'm sure I'll suceed.

I haven't uploaded any articles extra as of yet tbh, I have been prepping them on a daily basis but I am more interested in the SEO aspect than winning the competition (which I will btw :o) ) and am holding fire as I want to try some tracking scripts out I am having programmed at the moment to measure the effectiveness more accurately.

Happy to let the others have a false sense of security until I upload....LOL

Just getting back to the original topic/post !! :)

I have been maintaining my auctions at the 300 a week level and have been experimenting with some different loss leader products and am still seeeing some growth in results, I have been now targetting my Free Ebay Templates site Online Auction Trader using a number of different tangible goods from PSP's to collectables and have targetted sign ups and forum accounts etc and this is currently running at the following:

1. Increase in visitors, 4,123 extra uniques from these trial auctions.
2. A 500% increase in members (monthly figures).
3. Revenues running at circa +560% (across all sites).

Still trialling the process but showing some interesting results :)

One worrying thing is the amount of additional spam bots that are joining my forum since I conducted this trial, although I have mods in place toi limit what they can do :) its still showing on average 20 bot sign ups a day.....

Auctionman, does it matter if others operate in the market where your selling loss leading products or is best to research and find a niche market.

No real issue, for example, I am currently running a few PSP auctions that I am selling at cost and that is a super competitive market that I wouldn't operate in usually unless it was at the beginning of the Product life Cycle.
