i've been on the site for about a week or so and attempted to comment on a thread but had to remove the h t t p : / / and the w w w . from my signature first because it was considered spam. but then i noticed that other users have urls in their sigs. why can't i have one in mine?

New members have to make a certain number of posts before they can post links, this is to ensure they are not bots.
