I made the mistake of leaving pos feedback before my item arrived!
yes, this was dumb but an honest mistake.

the seller has not responded and my item never arrived.

What can I do now?
can paypal help?

First, some questions :)

How did you pay - was it from a paypal balance or funded though a credit card via paypal?

How long have you waited, have you tried getting the contact details of the seller though ebay and phoning him/her?

I did pay with paypal via debit/credit card

I have been waiting for nearly a month now.
I did try calling twice but no answer and no option to leave messages.

His feedback record was good?
Maybe I'm out of luck?

The feedback system is independant of paypal, they will process your claim even though you already left feedback.
Goodluck.

Hi John

I would email the seller and tell them that you intend to put in a claim through Paypal which will almost guarantee that you get your money back. Tell the seller to avoid hassles it would be wise for them to resolve the dispute without you having to go to Paypal.

The seller knows you are a new ebayer and hence is avoiding you, use similar words I used and send off an email, it will work wonders and the seller will respond back in no time. If they don't just log into your paypal account and file a claim.

To your success

If you left positive feedback then it may be an indication that you received the item. I'd still try to file "an item not received" dispute through eBay and even let eBay know that you left positive feedback in error.

How did you pay?
PAYPAL? If you paid with PayPal, you're in good hands as a buyer -- it seems that PayPal will honor the buyer over the seller.

DEBIT/CHARGE CARD? Your credit card company will also support you, but you nay have to file an affadavit.

MONEY ORDER? If you paid by money order, you can stop the payment, but there's usually a charge associated with it -- say $10.

Best wishes!

You can still place a claim with paypal. This will them send the seller an email stating there is a dispute open. If they still do not reply, you at least get your money back.

As someone already stated, the feedback system is independent of paypal disputes. So don't worry about you leaving positive feedback.

I'm sure after you place a claim with PayPal, the seller will get in contact with you. Either you will receive your item or get a refund. So go place that claim.

Hope everything goes well

Moreover I would suggest acting fast because there are limits on the amount of time that you have to file a claim. So don't procrastinate because you'll lose your money.. and you'll be mad
