This ones good.

Credit/Debit Card Payment Declined!

Dear Paypal User,

We are writing to alert you that your monthly Paypal seller fees have not been paid because credit/debit card declined Paypal's attempt to automatically deduct the amount due.

Case ID Number: PP-000-568-847

Outstanding Payment Due: $1.15

Because Paypal will not be able to collect funds for payment from this credit/debit card, based on the transaction decline reason, it has been taken off file from your account. Please sign in to your Paypal account and update your billing information.

To login your PayPal account click on the following link:

faults easy to spot include:

1) Dear Paypal user. Paypal will always use your real name in emails
2) No such thing as paypal seller fees. There are ebay fees, but paypal automaticly deducts any fees from the funds as you receive them.

Oh that was so bad. They were literally stealing thousands of dollars from ebay sellers.

When it comes to any e-mail from any service that I would have monetary transactions with I always contact them to confirm that the e-mail is from them and is correct if I'm not sure. For the most part it's easy to spot, and I wish more people would be wise to it.

Problem is that the scams work on a great many folk who are not aware of the way these guys work. It is not until they have been caught out that they even realise that this kind of practice i carried out by criminals.

I was recently on Craigslist looking for a used car. The seller got back to me and said he was in the US military working in the United Kingdom. The price was really low and it seemed like a great deal. He wanted to do everything through eBay, I knew nothing about these escrow scams. He wanted the money sent Western Union. There was an agent involved that I supposedly sent the money too, when he received it he would let the seller start shipping it. I sent the money last night, than I figured out it was a fraud this morning and was able to get my money returned. Un believable!!!! I never knew about any of this stuff, but I know a TON now.
I can forward the page they sent me from "eBay" and any other information if someone is interested.

Crazy Stuff!!

Also, eBay is cancelling auctions themselves on new members trying to cut down on fraud. If the item is over $100, or an electronic--nine times out of ten the auction will be cancelled. Newbies can FORGET about selling laptops, PS3's, etc! :x
