AuctionCUT, like most forums wouldn't be here without it contributors so if there's a function or catagory you would like to see here just let us know.

No promises, of course but we'll certainly consider each suggesion on it's own merits and on what it will add to our little community.

Due to the increasing spam problem, we've added a link to Spampoison within the footer. The idea behind Spampoision is to redirect email harvesting bots to trap sites that will feed it with an almost infinite loop of dynamically generated fake email addresses, mostly on known spammer owned domains! If you are making a post on this site, please do not include your email address - this should be general practise when posting in all forums.

Also, a number of Phpbb mods have been added to stop spam being posted/spam registrations within the forums.

Since they've been active we've only had one spam post in three weeks as oppose to three in one day as I'd previously experienced. I'll closely monitor any spam, and take additional measures if necessary.

The spam filter I installed last week has caught over 100 posts, mostly advertising viagra and tramadol. These posts are a constant hassle to forum users and adminstrators.

Only a very few posts (less than five) have got though the filter, but this allows us to improve it iincreasing the catch rate for future spam.

A few new genuine members have had also triggered the filter by posting urls within their posts. All new members must make three other posts before they are allowed to post urls in the forum.
