There are ways to help you find out what to sell on eBay. The process sure isn't easy but when you find out what to sell on eBay it will give you million dollars in revenue. In its simpliest words, I will share it below.

The first step is to explore the market. Exploring the market helps stimulate your brain, helps you think out of the box and helps you visualize what is beyond your four walls. Under this step you need to make a list. It can be a list of your interests, hobbies, something you are passionate about, etc… then explore. Selling what you are passionate about will bring spice to your life and not feel boring. After which, you again make a list but this time outside your interest then explore. This will let you see other opportunities. Just continue to explore the market. And as you do, write down all the other possible products/ideas that you see. After you are done, prioritize your list to top 3 according to your interest or what you are passionate about. The reason for this is you would want to start where your heart is happiest while making money on eBay. A chart will help you keep organize and review all the information at a single glance when needed.

The second step is to research the market. This is very important before furthering your eBay venture. Under this step you need to research in eBay. While searching, you collect the supply number of each of your top 3 items in your list. But what is number supply? Number supply represents the amount of supply that is available in the eBay marketplace. This process is quite long and tedious but to make it short, be on look for the low number of supply. You can do this by drilling down into the categories, sub categories, sub-sub categories, etc of each of your top 3 list until you find an untapped product with a hungry market. And if you do, it is like finding a gold mine.

You can post under this thread any of your questions so i can help you out. I hope you too will enjoy profit as much as I did. Good Luck!

I only ever sell items I'm interested in. For example, I love designing websites so sell similar related services such as Logo design and hosting via Ebay. This allows me to give the best customer service and 100% committment on all my sales. If you sell items you've no interest in, I've found that you quickly lose all interest in auctions alltogether.

When im sourcing items from china, i always look for items that have low shipping costs. Not only do you get it to your door cheap, but it also gives you the option of offering free shipping to the end user.

Have a brain storming session.... think of all the items you could sell that will cost very little to ship direct from the manufacturer. Ive had success selling from mini laptop mics to finger puppets!

my advice is start with small things so people will buy them more frequently and they wont suspect you because of the low prices but after you build up your feedbacks go for whatever you like and sell anything which you are interested

I agree, start out small and stick to what you know best about - it's easier to sell things that you are familiar with.

I would just like to add a few more things you can do:

- Try selling things from around your house - things that you are no longer using but are in good condition.

- Another thing you can do is ask yourself 'what do i need?' or 'what do I want to buy on eBay (or on other auction sites)?' You'll be surprised to find out that often times things you find in your shopping list are the exact same things on other people's list. This can also work when you have small chats with friends. But you have to be quick and keen to be able to pick up the hint.

- Also try reading through magazines, browsing through the net for the latest trends - if you see something being repeated over and over again in different magazines/sites you may have found yourself a profitable product.

Happy hunting :)

Anything sells on E-Bay!
In recent years things like a cornflake, a ghost, and fresh breast milk have successfully sold and even a Chinese guy was prosecuted for selling his son.
Literally, anything will sell on E-Bay! You are only limited by your own imagination and the price you want for it!

Yes, anything can be sold on eBay if you can get away with it. But if you get caught then you're in the hot seat and may face serious penalties for your actions.

I suggest you visit this link to learn exactly what it is you can and cannot sell:

Hope this helps :)

There's a really good book out there called "How and Where to Locate the Merchandise to Sell on eBay." It's a great resource for niche markets, which as we all know, is where the real money is. I recently reviewed this book in an article I wrote for ezinearticles. You can read it here: The Top Four Books to Help You Make More Money on eBay

There are several tried and tested ways to know which products are selling well at eBay. There are tools that show which items buyers are currently searching for, and you can use this insight to decide what product to sell! :)

First, check out http://pulse.ebay.com/. You will learn that it allows you to pry on what is currently being searched for and were bought on eBay. It can also provide further useful data on the popular items under the categories you are interested in.

For popular items at eBay, you may see http://product-index.ebay.com/best_selling_1.html. It gives detailed information by providing a list of the most popular items for each product category. Sellers who have a concrete idea of what specific items they want to sell will find this tool useful, because it highlights for example, that Glee: Season 1 is among the top 10 most popular DVDs.

You can also use eBay.com's Advanced Search and look into 'Completed Listings' data to know which items sold, and which items did not. This can easily be assessed by seeing sold listings in green and those that were not sold will have prices in red. :)

Hope this helps.
