How to Build Traffic to Increase Sales

What's selling on eBay at the moment, have you discovered any profitable dropshippers or wholesalers?

Many sellers didn't know that building traffic to your store helps increase sales. How? Simple. Use major keywords in every listing. Where to place the keywords? Use keywords in your title, sub title and in the item description page. By doing so, search engines will indexed those keywords and when somebody typed in those keywords, your items or store will come out on the search engine results. That simple but unfortunately only a few are doing because simply because they do not know the purpose of the title box, sub title box and description page.

If you do not know the keywords for your products, you can do research. Just take note that keywords are words that your buyers are dominantly using when searching for your products or your store.

I hope this post makes sense. If you need clarification on this, just post in here and I will gladly answer.

At here i would suggest that Keyword Research and Analysis is the most important thing you have ! On the Research phase if you really dont know what will be the keyword against a specific item ,then you can check your competitor website and see what keywords they have used in their website. And the ways you mentioned for building the traffic are really useful.

There isn’t one ultimate way to get traffic. Most people use a combination of some or all of the following strategies to get more people to their site:

• Submit your product listings to Google product search (fast and free way to get more traffic) http://www.google.com/base/help/sellongoogle.html
• Optimize your site for the search engines. Traffic Travis a good free tool to help you do this http://www.traffictravis.com/
• Set up a blog on your site and create some unique and interesting content. This is also an important part of search engine optimization.
• Leverage traffic from eBay, Amazon or other auction sites. Set up an account with the username the same as your business name and list a few items at attractive prices. Put your website URL in your email signature tags and insert into template eBay emails. Set up an About Me page with photos of your business, yourself and of course, your URL.
• Use Google Adwords – although this can end up being expensive if you don’t do it properly. We recommend the free training site http://www.affilorama.com to learn more.
• Set up an email newsletter on your website. Keeping in touch with existing customers encourages repeat sales.
• Set up an affiliate program.
• Use Social Media accounts such as twitter, facebook and LinkedIn to name a few - thousands of people (and potential buyers) visit these sites.

Hope that helps!

Hi All,

This is powerful info, another good way to drive traffic to your store for the long term is video, create a video for a few dollars at Animoto, then using a free account at Tubemogul upload them to various video sites such as you tube!

To clarify more on Animoto its a membership site that allows you to create stylish videos you could create a promotional video advertising your eBay store or website the quality is fantastic, but you don`t have to be a member for a few dollars you can create a video in a free account1

Tubemogul is a free service that you can use to distribute your video to the various video sites like i mentioned early it saves you keep logging in to all the video site accounts.

Just google the two site names to find the websites.

Hope this has been helpful....John.

Thats what it boils down to, and there are lots of ways to do that, but i find blogs one of the best ways for success and also a cheap way!

Using Rob Benwells system "Blogging to the bank", is the THE best system there is to profit using SEO tactics and "Blogger" blogs when i first read this ebook i was blown away by its content , but the best part for me was how to find successful selling products to promote on Clickbank using these free blogs as niche blogs, honsetly ingenious!

Check it out here ==> http://tinyurl.com/Rob-Benwells-BTTB

Cheers John.

Great one, John!

Another potential way of increasing traffic to your site or listing is to make sure you're visible. So how visible are your listings? I hope they are, if you feel you can do with more visibility, check out this workshop conducted by an eBay certified provider: (Although, this was done through eBay, I think you can still use the tips off eBay just as well)

Hope this gets you where you want to be! :)

No problem , John!

I wasn't aware about that too 'til my manger pointed that out to me. I agree, the workshops are oftentimes quite useful. And what's nice is you can easily browse for topics or issues you need help on.

Cheers! :)

I think SEO plays a great role in increasing your sales.. If you auction website rank at first page in google you can attract larger number of customers and ultimately more profit.

Hey Edward,

Got it in one, one way to that is simply by keyword use in your listings especially the title , and using eBay forums like this, which is liked by the search engines!

You know article marketing is great to driving people to your eBay store, don`t forget all these posts and articles build quality links to your store forever!

Hi guys,

Speaking of keywords, have you ever tried searching for the most searched keyword on eBay? We had this recent discussion on our forum at SaleHoo and I thought of sharing what we came up with.

If you are a member of SaleHoo, you can always use our own Research Lab, which will give you a picture of overall internet searches for keywords and eBay sales information for the product, so you should find that pretty useful.

But if not you may want to check out these links and hopefully these will help you figure the best keywords to use so you in turn can increase traffic to your eBay store/listing:

To better keywords and MORE traffic! Cheers :)

Hey,

This is what forums are all about, these are great keyword tools, like I have said in the past, get the keywords right from your research and use them to frontload your title for high exposure on best match, with a few sprinkled through the description, this would also work well using eBays 'adCommerce' PPC tool, it`s very simular to Google adWords!

Great resources guys....John.
