How do you drive more traffic to your ebay store?

What's selling on eBay at the moment, have you discovered any profitable dropshippers or wholesalers?

I have opened a basic ebay store for about 3 months and sell a variety of mobile phone/game console accessories. I currently have listed around 500 items on fixed price sale.

The problem is I don't seem to sell a lot of items to cover for all the fees i have to pay. Many other shops that sell similar items and have fewer products sell around 300-600 items a month.

Can someone tell me how to drive more traffic to my store or how to promote it? :-D

Hi, if all of your listings are in the fixed price format, try making some of then auctions with links to your fixed price listings.

The reason for this is the fixed price format are listed in accordance to your detailed seller rating, DSR. If your DSR is low then your items are lower on the list.

Your DSR is made up by your feedback, when a customer leaves feedback they are asked to score you on 4 points.
1, item description (was it accurate)
2, Communication
3, Dispatch time
4, P&P charges

The buyer rates you on a star system 1 to 5, 5 being tops. If your average DSR is below 4.4 then your listings are set lower on the list.

Auctions are listed according to time. So as the time runs out on your auctions your items will climb up through the listings and make there way to the top of the category as they're ending.

A little tip is to list 1 or 2 items as auction without the buy now option, and on the sales page add a link to your fixed price items. Something like "this item is also available to buy now from my shop, click here to view it" and make the here a link to the fixed priced item.

Hope that helps
Regards, Barry

Good advice from Barry. You need to get some products on auction to pull people into your shop. Choose a few low cost items and use these as loss leaders. Their job is to get people into your shop. At the bottom of the descriptions you use for auctions, add a link to your shop, also mention your shop at the end of the sales page. This technique works all the time for me. I always have a few items on auctions to bring people into my shop.
In fact, if I want to turn eBay down while I concentrate on something else, I withdraw my auctions and visits to my shop decline. try it out, it won't cost you much. Don't be afraid to experiment.

Hi there! Since you are new, you might want to let them know first that you exist. So this is why you need to have traffic and you can do this by using keywords. Use keywords in your title box, sub title and in the description page. Use keywords that your buyers are dominantly using when searching for your items or your store. You can also create blogs and articles and link it back to your store.

I hope this will help. Good Luck!

Hey Guys,

Sometimes the longer viral route like "Article Marketing", are ideal for long term repeat business, to me they always keep the prospect knocking on your store door, I mean the traffic ezine articles get it unrivalled, exposure like this shows prospects all your higher end ticket items that might just relate to the lower end product they where after purchasing in the first place!

My advice to you will be ....
1) Make the content which is written against your products more attractive and worth reading.
2) Do play live demos and videos as it attracts larger number of customers.

Hey,

The video spin is a good one, as a matter of fact video marketing is getting stronger and stronger, and its great that it can be incorporated with many traffc generation methods, I have one on you tube, it cost me $3 to create from Animoto,

Check it out ==>> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9W0MGLnStpA&feature=youtube_gdata

Im sure you will agree, its a sound investment and a quality presentation!
