Not yet, but I've come close. I once close my store and deleted all my listings (300+) when ebay cancelled one of them. These days I learn to keep my cool & let it go over my head.

I've not given up on them, but i do have to tolerate a lot of guff and double standards by using it.

My main gripe is the customer support - or lack off, and their inability to deal with real problems like scammers and cons, instead focusing on people who happened to put cash on collection when listing a sofa...

I know of hundreds of people who have....many of them HUGE former Power Sellers, some of whom I formerly dealt with.

Yes, there are thousands and thousands who have had the Sense to do what I have not yet done.....DUMP E-BAY!

To ignore Ebay is a strange business decision IMO, it isn't only a selling venue and if used correctly can seriously increase your traffic to your own stores for very little outlay compared to standard advertising methods.

Well, that is your opinion, and you are entitled to it! If you have not yet been raked and raped by Greed-Bay, and Greed-Pal, you should be thanking the Lord above for it.

Well, maybe you have not given up on them, BUT by your avitar, looks like your about to go after them, of is it someone else.

I almost always have one with me, but it's under my belt, AND POINTED DOWNWARD, not "in the business position"!

Likewise that is yours, however I will challenge you to PROVE that your statement is true, in many years trading and with combined feedback of close to 30k I have never been "raked and raped" by Ebay or Pay pal. Fees I factor into my buying decisions therefore I know my business cost and as for being scammed the standard checks will sort that..

People only get "raked & raped" by eBay and Paypal if they let it happen. Yes, it is not a cheap way to sell items - Loot, Friday Ads etc are just as effective, however as well thought out business model, run properly and within (what I generally consider to be) reasonably fair T&C's, eBay has a customer base and transaction level that any serious player can not ignore.

The costs are VERY clear as well - there is no reason to be hit by surprise fees, they arevisble when listing an item, and can easily be found in a number of help pages. These costs have to be factored if selling professionally, or even as a serious hobby.

eBay is a great front end sales tool, but to make it work to your advantage have a back end process to maximise revenues - own websites, marketing programmes, maillists etc.

Well, with that kind of feedback, than you are probably one of the DAMM SHOOTING STARS, that Greed-Bay kisses up to all the time. All it takes for little peons like myself to get screwed, if for me to start cutting into the sales of one of Greed-Bay's shooting stars, and they than go BAWLING LIKE A BABY to GOD E-BAY, as soon as I mention two brand names in one auction and in a phone call on your personal line to Greed-Bay it only takes a wimper for my auction to get booted. I know, I have had it happen, and for a time when I was a Silver Power Seller, my contact person admitted that is what happened. Also told me that because I mentioned that the item I was selling ALSO WOULD FIT several other brands that I named, they said I was key word spamming, but my rep ADMITTED, that my use of the names was ligit.

Yes, the problems for us little guys are largely the fault of you BIG GUYS. If you would take competition as a fact of life, rather than bawling to Greed Bay as soon as someone starts cutting into your sales there would not be DOZENS of sites of people who are totally turned off by Greed-Bay.

I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THEIR FEES!! Just their screwing with us little guys....(and with over 1,000 positive feedbacks, and 2 negatives by newbies who did not understand the system) myself, I have had a little experience on greedbay. I have also observed their tactics.
