Yes, there is John. But these days, facebook is flooding with entrepreneurs whether they are selling directly on facebook or simply using it as an advertising platform.

Personally, I don't see any harm in using it as an advertising platform - where you can simply and easily promote your site and products as well as interact with potential customers. You get to sell yourself here even if you don't really sell actual products. Although new apps have been or are being developed so you can add a checkout of some sort right in your facebook profile...

It's just a matter of time and sites such as these will soon be real and functional selling sites...
