I have been hitting the ID button for 2 days now and cannot get in to buy something on eBay. I get the message cannot check ID at this time, click again.
After hearing about eBay for years I can't believe it is so hard to join. I just joined this forum in 2 minutes.
Oh well, I did without eBay this long, I guess I can do without it forever.

I see on the sign up page which does not work there is a customer service telephone number charging $.59/min.

Hmmmmm. Good thing I am not paranoid of scams.

Never heard anything like that before.

Is it EBay.com or another version (ebay.co.uk, ebay.com.au,etc) your trying to join?

just plain eBay dot com. The ads are in US$. This is the 3d day now. When I try to "creat an eBay user id" Then I get the command: "Wait while we check availability of user id".

Then the red message comes on: "Sorry, we are not able to perform id check at this time. Please click the user id check button and try again."

I am not going to click that user id button a thousand times! One time I got an answer that the id was used already and not available.

Strange, I tried to send an email to eBay support and that will not go through either.

OMG I finally got in. After giving up I tried one last time. Should not be that hard to do, 5 days and countless clicks.
