ChrisHubbard wrote:One strategy for selling ebooks is to purchase "Private Label Rights" ebooks. These ebooks can be customized so that they are not exactly the same as everything else on the market.

You can add additional content, move content around, change the title, etc. You really get creative control over the final product. The key is differentiation.

If you have the same ebook as 200 other sellers, then it simply becomes a game of "who has the lowest price?" This is the biggest mistake that I see eBay sellers make when trying to sell ebooks on eBay. They go into saturated markets with the exact same product as everyone else.

But once you bring a fresh, new product to the market, you can charge a higher price - and you'll get it! And you'll sell more than the others as well.

Another strategy is to combine related ebooks into packages. This can increase the selling price and also make your listing stand out in the market.

Hey Chris,

Spot on my friend, i have a video tutorial course that i bought created by John Thornhill, called "Profit From PLR", and it`s the biz, its a step by step course on exactly what you have just stated in your post, and it`s a system i think is ingenious in it`s simplicity!

Cheers for that post Chris that method is a favourite of mine....John.

Hi all, i've been selling ebooks on ebay for a few years now and since the digital items restrictions on ebay i've been selling them on disc.

By selling them on disc i am now able to offer more: Freebies, back end sales, an opt-in form for my newsletter.
I use ebay to get people on my newsletter and it does build up (slowly).

As for the finance side of ebook sales on ebay, my main focus is to cover the ebay fees and i can't remember the last time i didn't sell enough to cover them.

Selling the same ol' same ol' ebooks does make it a bit of a price game, but like Chris and Ed (John) said, with PLR material you no longer have the same ol' same ol' ebooks and can make some real money. Not only from the sale of the ebook but from the content, affiliate links and further offers etc.

Hope that helps, Barry

Thats right Barry,

you know i used to wonder how information sellers used to make any profit on eBay, until i realised to use eBay only as a traffic magnet to your website for higher ticket items offering more of the same info and without the eBay fees!

Its a great business model....John.
