Hi

I am wondering if any one else has come across shysters buying up all their listed item and THEN NOT PAYING.

In my case its one specific person and I know who it is but ebay will not do anything to stop him. I am now concerned that if this spreads across ebay. It will become a waste of time listing/selling anything . At present this guy is achieving what he wants which is no sales for me. While he sells away merrily.

What I am concerned about also is he appears to be able to generate ebay ID's and even worse paypal accounts at will. I have the most security I can have on all my auctions, and technically anyone without a paypal account can not bid on my items but it does not appear to work. Ebay are absolutely useless and seem to do absolutely everything they can to protect buyers EVEN ROGUE ONES at the expense of genuine sellers.

Comments appreciated.

Hi ukracer,

Have you tried reporting this to eBay? If you haven't, you should.

Also, there is a feature that enables you to block certain buyers from ever bidding on your listings/auctions. Maybe you should try blocking this buyer from all your auctions and hopefully solve your headache.

Hope this helps :)

Yes I have spend 3 weeks reporting him to Ebay but all they have done is deleted a couple of his ebay ID's

I have also blocked any Ebay ID's I know he is using but he keeps creating new ones and Ebay will not provide the ability to block Zero bidders. Unless this happens this guy can and will continue to destroy my business within weeks if not days.

This is my security level Users are blocked as follows.

Don't have a PayPal account
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strike(s) within 1 Month(s).
Have 4 Breach of Policy report(s) within 1 Month(s).
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Have a feedback score of 0 or lower and no credit card on file
Are currently winning or have bought 2 of my items in the last 10 days and have a feedback score of 0 or lower

What I am most concerned about is how this guy keeps on adding credit cards?? As he is bidding with zero feedback so MUST have managed to have added a credit card to the paypal accounts he keeps creating.

I really believe this has massive implications for ebay and sellers who might come under attack from competitors.

Honestly, the policies that eBay and PayPal have are sometimes a bit unfair, making some people get away with what they want, while others who try do get caught. I wish there was something I could do to help you with this one ukracer. Seems like this guy really knows his way around eBay seeing how 'heavily guarded' your listings are.

Are you sure that its just one member who's after you? It may possibly be more than one.

Hi UKracer, what a nightmare!!

eBay have now introduced new measures to help sellers from this kind of buyer. I wrote a blog post on it a short time ago:

http://barry-wells.com/ebay-helping-sel ... -feedback/

If the buyer is found to be in competition with you eBay can now block all of their accounts, buying and selling, as they're from the same IP address.

Within the post is a link to an eBay help page, set up for this sort of trash buyer.

Just out of interest does this person have any items for sale?

Another little tip: Request a cancelation of transaction for every item that they bid and win, eBay will soon notice the amount and look into it for themselves. Check out the help page it could be your answer.

Best of luck
