I am considering creating a 'how-to' learn ebay for beginners aimed specifically at the silver haired brigade. I have all the equipment to get started. Just wanted to know whether this could be useful for all those wanting to try selling on ebay.

Learning by video/dvd is much easier than reading a book. I am also looking for affiliates who could earn 50% of the retail price (not yet decided). I used to be quite active selling on ebay with feedback of 2000+ (1 neg) but I guess it would'nt take me that long to get back into it.

Any suggestions, thoughts or ideas welcomed.

It could work, but have competition from sites such as AuctionSelling101 which contains online video tuitions. How would you go about marketing it?

Lynda.com already sells the title "eBay Essential Training". You may want to check that out (they have online demos), before embarking on your venture. having said that, it may give you an insight as to what may be missing for the 'older generation', whom you wish to target.

As regards marketing, you may wish to target senior-related companies such as Saga in the UK, and other online presences for that demographic, including Jeff Taylor's (he started Monster.com), Eons online service.

Good luck.

eBay already has a DVD you can buy. Why not buy it from the eBay school?

If you make it unique enough, people will buy it. Just make a quality video and possibly include an eBook!

Ebay's layout is changing all the time - it's not really worth it IMO

This is so true. It's all about the quality and the uniqueness of the product. If you are doing it fine you should see good results. Make it go viral mate!! Image

In my opinion DVD can be very useful in guiding people about ebay...This will work for sure but video quality should be effective and informative..

Cheers!
