Hi Everyone,
I have been selling on ebay since 1998 (id is "2310") and just received an email from ebay stating that they now require tracking information to be posted on ebay or the funds payed by the buyer will be held for up to 21 days. This ebay message that I received is pasted below....suffice it to say that after over 12 years of use, I will be terminating our account with ebay as of june (when the policy comes into effect). uploading tracking information is a huge waste of time as our automated (UPS and Canpar ) systems emails all our customers with their tracking information, shipping date and so forth. What ebay is doing will be a huge waste of time as we will have to monitor which order is from ebay and which is not, take down the tracking number after its been shipped, log back into ebay and indicate the tracking numbers manually....waste of time !
I feel that this is just another ebay gimmick to make us sell more on their website, which I really don't care about (ebay is about 1% of our yearly sales). I think many serious sellers will terminate their account in june, once their policy hits. We will be one of them. Here is the email we got from ebay.
"Until your performance improves, your account will remain limited. Beginning in June, if you are not meeting minimum performance standards, funds from your sales may show as pending in your PayPal account and not be available for a period of time. Learn more about how to get your funds faster by providing tracking information and marking items as shipped.
We'd like to help you improve your selling performance, so that we can remove the limits and you can list more items. "
