Recently, my eBAY account was suspended for alleged Feedback Manipulation. As I feel that I've not violated any eBAY policy, I appealled, requesting for evidence of violation, only to be informed that my account cannot be reinstated within 30 days (as a matter of policy) without proving any wrongdoings on my part. I feel that eBAY's prcedures of handling such issues on basis of "guilty until proven innocent" disappointing and
unappropriate and seek comments on what actions that I can do to clear his name. Must add that I've no negative feedback in my name and has conducted all my transactions in a responsible and honourable manner. Incidentally, a friend who stood out for me by posting a topic on eBAY forum was "threathened with account suspension", all for the sake of trying to seek justice. Are we at the mercy of these corporations whose practices are sometimes questionable. Sppreciate any comments. Thanks.

You're not the first person this has happened to and you won't be the last. EBay is a dictatorship, they have a monopoly and they ruthlessly exploit it. Are we at the mercy of these massive corporations? Unfortunately, the answer is yes we are if we want to use their products.

If you rely solely on eBay to sell products, if your business is dependent on eBay then you are vulnerable, very vulnerable. Being accused by eBay of a policy violation is akin to being accused by a Stalinist guard of being a capitalist. You are guilty, end of story.

The way to fight back is not to put all your eggs into one basket. Use other venues to sell, ideally have your own website then you can call all the shots. If you do rely on eBay then you will have to tread carefully and hope the king doesn't single you out for an unjustified beating.

I hope it works out ok for you.

Decca234uk is absolutely right. If you base you whole business around ebay then you are at their mercy (if and when).

I was suspended about 18 months ago for feedback manipulation. Even though i complied with their policies and amended my listings when they changed. I was suspended for 30 days, lost about 650 off of my feedback score, lost all the current bids i had on my items and when i was reinstaited i lost my powerseller status.

They are a law onto themselves and change their policies as and when they want without thought for the people that made them what they are today, ie the little bod's at home.

Good luck.
