So, your saying do not use (or don't get caught) trying to use ebay to filter sales over to your own website. seems to be one rule for normal sellers and others for powersellers as I am always seeing them include nice templates and off site links.

I thought it was allowed to add a link to your website on your ME page. I have a sign up form on my ME page too, so that people can sign up to my newsletter

I have found that the best legal way to get traffic back to your website via an ebay listing is to use your about me page. In your listing you can link to your About Me page (as it's an ebay page), from there you can link to your website or even include an opt-in box. I have been doing this for years without any problems.

That's what my article states, however you are also governed by what you can link to (ie. the type of page). I have never heard of any issues with opt in box's but Ebay are refining their rules and may deem it as a venue to solicit off Ebay sales so this may change....we will wait and see and i will update the article as such if things do change.

Yes, the ME page is quite a grey area. It seems to be at eBay's whim and whether or not someone reports you or not. I think that as long as you're not too OTT then it's OK to link to your own sites. However, I have seen people with banners for hosting and stuff on their ME pages which I wouldn't think would go down to well. :o

its fine to link to your webpage from your about me page...they kind of have a "three click rule" to items your selling, but this is generally not upheld...generally all links in your about me page are fine. And you can link to your about me page by saying something like "visit my about me page for more info on my business" but cant say something like "visit my about me page for my website".

If anyone has any questions about policy clarifications, im pretty good on them :)
