Ebay is the worst. My friend sells stuff on their for years and have a very good rating, no negative feedback ever!

Well, he recently posted up about 50 items, One item he tried selling was from a new site he found sellerkey which turned out to be a fake ipod i guess in their eyes. they shut his account down complete, no warning, no care in the world.

No wonder why their stock is dropping, they are just a bunch of unprofessionals running the show now, bring back the old management.

I now push my own site where my friend sells his stuff

I am sure if i read your auction 101 tips, tricks, it won't change anything. My friend posted up auctions how he has for all these years but if one policy violation slips thru, they should just shut down the one auction and leave the other 49 running but they didn't.

you know the best part, they want money for the listing of the 50 auctions so i told them what to do with their invoice so now my friend is getting the collection notice which i spoke to them and explained, Posting of one which violated the policy is 1 single auction, they aren't entitled to payment for 49 good auctions they closed.

They just make stupid business decision, i don't need to explain, you can read all over the net about how they are losing big time sellers and buyers.

We even have buyers now thinking they are in control since a seller can't leave feedback, i would rather not sell anything at all then deal with that.

I agree, ebay has become worthless as far as customer service goes. Ok well, they've honestly had horrible customer service since the beginning but it's even worse now. I now promote my own site too and I'm looking to network with several other ebay alternative sites. I won't say why here but I can tell you that I have my reasons why I know it will work.

Just wanted to post my latest nightmare with ebay.

Sold a 1998 Nissan Sentra on ebay recently...oops, did I mention it was sold 7 times, it was the 8th time I thought i had a great buyer as he payed immmediately and then came to my home and paid the balance and i handed over the title. A week or so goes by and i get a call from him, that he went to go pick-up the car and it wouldn't start, i said it needed a battery(in the ad) so he said he buys one then tries to move the car as it started up fine but it needs brakes(in the ad) so i say, you didn't read the auction, did you? He said this vehicle was under water and the brakes can't be fixed due to rust. I said that why you don't buy unseen.
His response->I am filing with NJ court and suing you...boo hoo hoo.
I said go ahead, they will be notified that NJ has nothing to do with it and it will be thrown out, i sold it in NY and I said do what you must, call ended.

I did contact ebay and explain my situation and they said i am in the right as it is the buyers responsibility to read the ad completely before bidding which I told him plus he could file for vehicle protection, not sure what he ended up doing aside from seeing he got feedback for purchasing 2 new brake rotars on ebay, guess he realized he didn't read the ad after all as he gave me postive feedback.

Ebay helped out as far as saying i was right but it is a nightmare getting people to pay and the ones that do, don't be surprised if they didn't read your ad completely.

I was Shocked hearing a friends experience on eBay, and how She lost
some money on eBay, She was Selling and Buying on eBay and was
making upto 200 listings per week but after some time she started
having problems with them with some buyers making false claims which
eBay did not verify but withdrew her money even without getting her products back,
She said she had lost thousands of dollars on eBay and tried getting
response from customer service but all to no avail at the long run she
saw she couldn't login to her account again and all her money gone .

I think we can all work together to pull eBay's Ego Down or what do you think?

Ebay is one of the greatest success stories.. We must understand that inorder to keep the quality intact they are required to take drastic actions..
But we all know ebay has monopoly to its advantage. World needs an alternative very badly..

I agree, there needs to be an alternative. I understand that they have to take measures to protect buyers, but like many of you, I've experienced how those same measures completely screw well intentioned sellers.

I have to agree with most of you. eBay has certainly faltered in the past few years. It has been peppered with cut-throat tactics and counterfeit items posted as authentic. There are too many unethical individuals selling garbage to make a dollar.

Ebay is a good way to start an online business but your objective should be to eventually trade through your own website. This takes time because building traffic isn't easy. Until you get your website established Ebay offers you traffic and customers. You need to convert those customers to your website. Until you achieve this you are at the whim of ebay.

For no reason at all they can start to pick on you. If they suspend your account they have stopped you trading. They have too much power but there's little sellers can do about it except pray for an alternative.

Really? I thought Ebay was the best site for buyer and seller. Your warning makes me reconsider Ebay carefully. Thanks so much.
