Just reading at goofy about a problem, a buyer has had with a mp3 player purchased from an ebay seller in HK.

Personally, I've bought quite a few things from HK with no problems, although some of my colleagues vow they'll never purchase anything from HK sellers claiming the products are often cheaply produced and will fail quickly.

Where do you stand with purchasing items from HK eBay sellers?

The 2/4/8 mp3/mp4 players initially sold to folk, or should I say sent, are chipped 1GB - actually they are probably faulty 2/4/8GB chips chipped to 1GB usable + a bit to be used for compressed text - possibly another 0.5 GB.

There are 2/4/8GB recordable drives, but they ask for extra money for these.

Its a con. They rely on the majority not loading to much on them initially, and the majority of the ones who do realise just write it off.

Well they've come unstuck with me. I'm on my high horse and I aint getting off it.

So, what's planned. Have you opened up a paypal dispute? Would you recommend others stay away completely from sellers based in Hong Kong?

I raised a dispute, put a link to a slating review in goofbay, told him where to shove his compromises and got a full refund.
All his mp3/mp4 player auctions have been removed (although many others still sell exactly the same ones described in the same deceiptful way.

These players are utter crap both are dead, and weren't what they were described as to start with.
