What sort of cons do I have to look out for on eBay?

I mean is it really safe or not? I was told not to purchase eBooks but the ones I have got from you are fantastic, hay maybe there is an eBook on cons:-)

I've never heard of not to purchase ebooks on Bay. Where did you hear that from?

The main cons on Bay involve escrow services, especially when the user is located in an eastern european country.

Be careful to check out any escrow services very carefully before you use them.

The best tip I can offer is to IGNORE any email you get from ebay, just delete them straight away without opening them. Any legit emails will appear in your 'my messages' section on 'my ebay'. There are so many scam emails banding around that it is safest to just delete any that seem to come from them.

Don't worry you will not miss anything important..

Gotta completly with that. I get at least one spoof email everyday regarding eBay or Paypal. And they are getting smarter as well, no longer the basic "Your account is due to expire", but are arriving in the forms of "Question from other eBayer" to grab your maximum attention.

You should send these emails to spoof@payapal so they can try to crack down on this types of scams.

I have reported emails to the spoof[at].... address on numerous times and then a few weeks later got exactly the same email from exactly the same addy (or a variation of but from same ip). So now I do not waste my time and just delete them all and check the accounts specifically to see if they were real (as per my previous post)
