I have just won my first auction, and am paying by cheque as I havnt got time to set up a paypal account.

Apart from the cheque, what should I send to the person who I am buying the product from?

Do I need to write anything on the back of the cheque like what I bought, or attach a peice of paper with what I bought?

Thanks

Just print out a copy of the ebay invoice, which will contain your name and address & the item number. This will allow the seller to see which item your paying for.

Setting up PayPal only takes three days max. Your seller would be sure to understand that. If they have time to wait on your check then they will have time to wait for PayPal to verify your account. In most cases, PayPal can be set up instantly.

If you plan on buying from ebay again, I would suggest getting a Paypal account. Almost all sellers take it, and it makes the wait time for your purchase quicker. I have sold things on ebay and if someone wants to write me a cheque, that's ok, but I let them know that I will not ship the item until I receive the cheque and make sure that it's cleared.

I would either print up the invoice to go with it, or write a short note. :-D
