Hi all,
I have a peculiar situation here. I had purchased a brand new cellphone from someone (not on eBay) and then, when I realized that I actually didn't need it because I found a better one, I decided to sell it on eBay. Now this evening, a month after receiving the phone, the buyer emails me to tell me that his cellphone service is now suspended because apparently the phone was originally purchased with a stolen credit card (which I was not aware of). He now wishes to be fully reimbursed the price of the phone, or else he will file a claim through eBay, PayPal, and the police if necessary to get his money back. My question is, is it my responsibility to now fully reimburse him for this phone that he has been using for a month? Should I do partial reimbursement? Should I believe him that his phone was actually suspended and that he is not just trying to scam me to get my money back? What kind of recourse could this have if I don't reimburse him? I mean, I did send him the phone exactly as described, and had I known that after a month of use, they would not allow him to use it, I would never have even sold it on eBay. I would never have even ordered it to begin with if I had known that it was purchased with a stolen CC. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks :)
