|
|
Hi. I have heard about people buying/selling ebay accounts and wondered how ownership was transfered and if eBay even allow you to transfer your account to someone.
I am not selling but want to transfer my account to a friend for free as I have a lot of good feedback but can no longer afford the time to run it.
Is this possible and if so how do I go about it.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice

Hi Steve,
Welcome to AuctionCUT
The short answer is No.
Ebay will not allow transfer of accounts (whether sold or not) without their permission - and that permission is unlikely for individual accounts. It's all contained within the eBay user agreement when you sign up.
If it's a business eBay account then I suspect there may be exceptions, for instance if the business is sold.
What kind of account is it - Business or Individual? |

Hi.
Thanks for getting back to me. My account is private but has in effect been a part time biz. Playing around in the personal details section of My eBay I saw I could change the name of the account holder but not the address which seems a bit daft.
Anyway thanks for your help

You can also merge accounts, say you had an old account that got negative feedback once, and you decided to make a new one, and haven't made a purchase or a sale on the old account for I think 60 days, you can merge the two, gaining all the feedback from the old one.
Hope that helps or adds some insight. |

Yeap - it's always worth remembering this. Good advice. |
