I sold an item in the UK that was dispatched the next day and the tracking number shows that it had been delivered and signed for the following day. A few days later the buyer informed me that he had not recieved the item and could I tell him what was happening. Although over several days I have provided the tracking information and some suggestions on how to try and find out what has happened to the item; someone else signed for the item because he was out; etc. the buyer is being very unresponsive; the only reply I have had is "that is not my signature that is not my writing"; he has made no other comments or requests which surprises me. Although I am trying to help resolve the non delivery problem the buyer does not seem interested in resolving the problem at all; which is odd to me; If I had paid for an item and it says it had been delivered/signed for but I had not recieved it I would want to try and locate the item.
As I have proof of dispatch and delivery to the verivied PayPal address I am covered by the PayPal seller protection policies.
Has anyone ever had this problem or any suggestions on how I can proceed; I have considered the following.
Is there likely to be a PayPal callback claim for goods not received.
Is this a ploy to extend the returns policy; unfortunatly I have specified returns for faults only within 7 days after receipt of the goods.
report to ebay that I am having a problem with the buyer.
Just sit back and wait for him to make the next move; I can not do any more than I have already done.
