Adam Ginsberg has a new tagline on his site “America’s “go-to” guy for how to make BIG money on the Internet and Ebay “, however he continues to attract controversy judging from the Dogpuss comments page. Those who have attended his recent events in the UK and Los Angeles have nothing but praise for Adam. Unfortunately many Dogpuss readers are quick to remind us of his history selling billiards table and those unlucky customers that were left out of pocket.

Will Adam ever regain credibility to the eBay masses? Recently he has launched several additional sites including http://www.promoteadam.com/ (affiliate program for Adam), http://www.adamginsbergreviews.com/ (featuring testimonials for Adam), & http://adamginsbergsupport.com/ (help desk for Adam).

I can only hope that the introductions of these domains mean Adam is ready to pick up his act & offer support where needed.

Elsewhere EBay Superhero, Lee McIntyre has had an amazing first year earning critical acclaim with his refreshing honest approach to internet marketing and marketing on eBay. Always being seen to be keen to offer excellent and free information to his members, this has gone down well and worked wonders for Lee.

Throughout the year Lee has launched several ebooks including Auction Profit Unleashed and now impressible offers his own private mentoring group at StandingStartProfits.com for under $20 a month. Not many marketers are in a position to offer mentoring so early in their career. Dogpuss will be reviewing StandingStartProfits early next month.

Best Product of the year, with out a doubt goes to Paul AKA Underground who reveals amazing ebay tactics in Underground Auction Blueprint. As I wrote in an earlier review this ebook contains “100% hardcore, cunning and direct methods to drive competitors out of the market, profit massively from the latest eBay selling trends, get viral marketing by taking advantage of wacky auctions & even using eBay to collect and sell leads”

Now, it’s your turn – What’s your best eBay product of the year? Who’s impressed you the most over the last twelve months. As usual your comments are welcome. Have a great new year.

Auction Affiliate Secrets by Michael Sheriff, offers to reveal “The Hidden Goldmine Of eBay’s Affiliate Program Revealed.” Michael is a respected eBay marketer & this ebook claims that eBays affiliate program is your solution to making a re-occurring income from eBay without all the hassles that sellers normally encounter.

With testimonials from Dave Bromley from ukauctiononline.co.uk amongst others the ebook seems to be a winning formula and there’s no doubt that Michael has researched his ebook and subject in-depth.

Offering the basic history of eBay and why you should join the affiliate program, the ebook also includes some pretty neat tricks that the majority of eBay affiliates won’t know.

Personally though I’m undecided and can’t figure out who the ebook is aimed at. Anyone familiar with affiliate marketing will already be able to find their way around the ebay program and should be aware of the opportunity.

For those who have never tried affiliate marketing before, this ebook will fill in a lot of holes in their knowledge and alert them to what can be a very profitable opportunity. But I don’t feel it contains enough knowledge for those who have never tried affiliate marketing to succeed – after all the majority of users who try affiliate marketing fail to earn a single cent.

Ideally I think you’d get the most out of this ebook after reading something along the lines of Secret Affiliate Weapon by Ewen Chia to give you an introduction about being a successful affiliate.

You can find out more information about Auction Affiliate Secrets here. It’s currently priced at $24

Jason James runs the ever successful Auction Resource Network which specialised in showing others how to use EBay successfully. Over the past year, Jason has also launched several other membership sites including uncut marketing & audio video riches.

1) How did you start on eBay & what appealed to you about the site?

Jason: I was looking for something to do after the military, and eBay was the first thing I thought of. It’s easy, low-risk, fun, and can be very profitable. What appealed was the traffic eBay was getting…. it’s basically a massive pool of hungry buyers just waiting to click on “Buy It Now”

2) What is the best tool you’ve used to help increase your eBay sales?

Jason: I would say the best tool I have used to increase my eBay sales is a professional template service. Basically, a service to make my auctions look professional, convey all the required information, and present high quality pictures of my items. I think presentation is very important.

3) How important is it to use eBay as a marketing tool – such as using it to drive traffic to your own sites?

Jason: It’s very important especially since the advent of the classified ads system eBay has basically allowed you to funnel their traffic to your squeeze pages and sales letters. You can also do it selling low priced ebooks, then driving people to your site with links in the ebook.

4) Whats the biggest lesson you learnt when selling on eBay?

Jason: The biggest lesson I have learned selling on eBay is that research is very important. Theres software tools out there that allow you to search the ebay “completed listings” which shows you what items have sold in the last few months, how many bids, the item got, final selling price, and much more. By seeing what has sold and what hasn’t in the past, you can use this data to optimize your current auctions.

5) Is it still possible to make a living on eBay or is there too much competition from other sellers?

Jason: It’s still very possible. eBay is a huge marketplace, and the sellers are the minority. I’m pretty sure I can start from scratch with an ebay business today, and have money in my pocket within a few days, it’s not rocket science, and almost anyone can do it.

6) Any other advice for AuctionCUT members, regarding selling on eBay?

Jason: Remember to do your research! Looking at what sold in the past, is so powerful. Be able to leverage that data to optimize your eBay auctions is so powerful. So do your research!

You can visit Jasons Auction Resource Network at: http://www.auctionresourcenetw…..scount.htm

My name is John Thornhill and my background is nothing special; I was a factory worker and was sick of the hard shift work and the boring repetitive task my job involved. From the day I bought my first PC I was fascinated by the freedom the Internet brought. Plus the opportunity to make money. I was hooked from day one.

John, also known as PlanetSMS is a master of digital products and ebooks.

1) In your opinion is it still possible for a newbie to create a business and full time living on ebay, or is it the marketplace still too crowded?

John: Of course it is still possible for a newbie to create a business. Especially with eBooks as if you create eBooks with resale rights you want as many people selling your eBooks as possible so the more eBook sellers there are the better.

2) What would be the biggest single piece of advice you’d offer to those looking to sell on ebay?

John: Create your own eBooks with resale rights and allow other eBay members to sell them. Inside these eBooks would be affiliate links and links to your higher priced products.

3) Whats the biggest lesson you’ve learnt when building up your ebay business?

John: Try to create as many ‘partners’ as possible, I generally do this by helping as many people as I can. Hopefully one day anyone I have helped will repay me by promoting my products. (Through their affiliate link of course)

4) Are you surprised at how well your ebook has been received?

John: Yes, I must say I have had some excellent reviews and all have surprised me. This only inspires me to move forward and make my next product even better.

5) Do you have any more goals within ebay or have you achieved everything you’ve set out to do?

John: I am only getting started, I am always striving to ‘build my business’ in any way I can. This is the key to success. Always try to create new products/services.

6) Do you have any other comments you wish to volunter to our readers?

John: Yes, if you have never considered writing your own eBook please think about it. You can get all the help you need from my newsletter @ http://www.planetsmsnewsletter.com/

Robert Frechette, author of Grand Stage Selling started selling on eBay part time, and grew his sales into a 2.2 million dollar business. Robert, based in North Carolina has gained the title of Number #1 eBay seller on five occasions.

“An extraordinary accomplishment”, is how Jim Cockrum describes Robs business. AuctionCUT thanks Rob for being the first in the 6 Question interview series.

1) – In your opinion is it still possible for a newbie to create a business and full time living on ebay, or is it the marketplace still too crowded?

Rob: I think there’s a tremendous opportunity for anyone who wants to start selling on eBay. In the past 6 months, we’ve added two more eBay accounts because of some different products we are offering. With more eBay accounts, it allows us to brand ourselves and sell more products in different ways.eBay is a very unique business opportunity. I wouldn’t spend a whole lot of time developing a business plan and mapping out a lengthy strategic plan. The best way to get started is to simply spend a bunch of time browsing eBay. Once you focus on a eBay category and some product ideas, do a completed item search on eBay to see what customers are
willing to pay for products. For example, one of my first products that I continuously sold on eBay was used blue jeans from thrift stores. I can easily go to eBay and do a completed items search on Gap jeans, for example, to find out what used Gap jeans are selling for and compare that to my purchase price. This is a simple analyss for a gross profit.
eBay is the world’s leading online marketplace. There always seems to be opportunity for more sellers.

2) – What would be the biggest single piece of advice you’d offer to those looking to sell on ebay?

Rob: Start! This is probably the single leading question I get from people. When I ask them how are their current sales going, many reply that they haven’t even started selling on eBay yet. I think people make it way to complicated to get started and start earning some additional income. Sign-up for a free eBay and PayPal account, sell some things from around the house, and you’re off and running. Then your next step is finding a continuous supply of items to sell and learning to manage your selling process.

3) – Whats the biggest lesson you’ve learned when building up your ebay business?

Rob: Measuring whether or not I am making money. Seems pretty simple, huh? Let me explain. Selling on eBay can be very time consuming. Especially for the part-timers who use eBay as a source for a second income.

People often think that because they are so busy, that they must be making a lot of money. Or people see your busy so family and friends think things are going well. You need to determine what your time is worth. Keep track of how many hours a week you are spending on your eBay business and compare that to your revenue and costs. I know of many people who sell on eBay that would make more money working at their local McDonalds.

4) – Are you surprised at how well your ebook has been received?

Rob: In some ways I am surprised with the number of readers. After selling on eBay for seven years, the eBook was just an idea. I really think people appreciate the advice from a very active eBay seller, not just some sales vendor or something like that. The bulk of the eBook is my story of how I started selling on eBay. It’s like a case study. I’ve been working on the next edition, planned to release by the end of April. It will include more details, graphs and photos.

5) – Do you have any more goals within ebay or have you achieved everything you’ve set out to do.

Rob: I’m just getting started! Right now it’s just may dad and I that work in our warehouse full-time along with a small 1st class group of part-time employees. Last year sales topped at about $3 million and we were the #1 volume sellers for 5 consecutive months. The volume selling statistic kinda scared me because while we worked hard, it wasn’t all that complicated. I was wondering where all the other sellers were at! But technology has changed so much since we started that we can sell a whole lot more with little effort.

There are tons of other ecommerce opportunities, too. Just the other day one of our industry competitors (who doesn’t sell on eBay) hit $200 million in sales. And their not much bigger than us.

6) – Any other comments you wish to volunteer to our readers?

Rob: eBay is one of the biggest opportunities right now. If you want to start a business, you can start today. I’m not in any way affiliated with eBay, so I don’t have a bias reason to say that. Once you start selling, you’ll have more ideas than you will time to implement. But, those ideas won’t come until you get started.

Perhaps in the near future we can take some specific questions from your readers and post some replies.

Best wishes to everyone!
