Is there a set of "Best Practices" to be followed while at eBay?

i'd say a basic thumb rule: bid only on items you will buy.

I'm not a great fan of sniping (last minute bidding) tbh, I simply put what I think its worth and then leave it to run. If I get outbid then there are always others selling the same things pretty regularly

Personally, I try to leave it to the last few seconds and then submit my final bid. I think by bidding early you can drive up the auction cost,

One thing to remember is that sometimes the seller will contact you after the auction to say they have more of the product if you would like to buy. This is important in not going over budget in trying to secure a deal by outbidding others.

I think a lot of it also depends on how regularly you check your email. If you check pretty frequently and keep track of when the bid is going to end, it's probably okay to wait until the last minute to bid. My problem is that when I put the bidding off, I usually forget about it when the time comes for the auction to end and I miss out completely.

Whenever i buy from ebay i always go for buy it now however if this is not available and the auction is coming to a close i try to bid at the last second. I do not use auction snipers for the simple fact that i do not trust them. In order to use a auction sniper you must give them your eBay details, now i have heard some good things about these snipers but at the same time i've also heard some bad things.

Bidding at the end of an auction is always the best method. Bidding earlier simply increases the price of the item and invites your competition to outbid you.

As far as bid sniping services, I personally use a service called bidnapper. You can find them at bidnapper.com. I've used them for years and never had a problem. They are extremely efficient and reliable. I have seen free services but I always opt for bidnapper as I trust them fully.

Bid Sniping is a key part of my eBay business. I use it to purchase lots of items at bargain prices. I spend about an hour each week setting up snipes at bargain prices...the profit is built in when I win the acution. Then I can turn around and resell the items right on eBay. I generally use sniping services for poorly listed items. And I don't have to be on the computer to win the auction. My bid is placed for me automatically. I'm a big fan of automation so this works out very well for me.

I discuss bid sniping in great detail in part 2 of my free 5 part mini course. Bid sniping is a core strategy for my eBay business and I think it is one thing that many eBayers overlook.
