The main benefit is access to telephone support, and priority email response but the intangible benefits include access to the PS discussion board where a lot of experienced sellers hang out on their selling ID's - no hiding behind posting names, as well as the kudos of being "a pillar of the eBay community"

The US site gets a much better deal, with various stationary packs and business templates & advice.

If it's offered to you, take it. There are some buyers out there that tend to shy away from powersellers, but these tend to be the type that believe everything they read in the tabloid papers! Let them shop elsewhere if you wish, but it's possible to hide the powerseller logo from appearing next your ID.

What a sneaky trick! Didn't they change the terms, or does this still work?

If you mean the 100x 1p listings, then technically it will work, however your feedback will look identical to a scammers, so imagine what that will do to your potential sales?

To gain the PS status, the 100 items per month will have to be sustained over three months, but i doubt if you get away with selling 1p listings for that long. The scammer connection does not impress ebay, and the listings tend to get pulled pretty quickly, usualy under feedback solicitation reasons.

If you're gonna become a PS, then at least do it the proper way. Those that fluke their way in, do not tend to stay around long. Each member needs to question their reasons why they wish to become a PS - if it's just for the "I've got a PS badge", then by all means, get there by hook or by crook, but don't expect to stick around!

Don't forget that people can see what you sold if there is feedback. Do it the honest way. There is more pride that way and you know you have something to brag about.

This will no longer work!

eBay is rolling out a new policy that requires all goods that can be digitally downloaded or transferred electronically to be listed using the Classified Ads format, effective March 31, 2008. Using the Classified Ads format, sellers receive a 30-day ad at a fixed price.

eBay said it is instituting the new policy to preserve the integrity of the Feedback system. "Digital goods are often reproduced at little to no cost to the seller. On eBay, this creates the potential for Feedback Manipulation (both real and perceived)."

That is fantastic news. I'm more of a buyer than a seller, and I'm sick of pages and pages of auctions for e-books. I think it amazing that feedback for electronic delivery was ever allowed, as neither party has to do much. Pleased to see something positive has happened.

Hello!

I didn't understand really, what is the benefit of being PS?

But I really agree with though who think that seller need to become by PS by fairly ways. Effect will be more stable, and for longer time.

Becoming a PS in a fast way, is like investing big chunk of money into airplane, which you cant personally operate.
You see, a smart investor(would it be a money or time) is always looking for both sides of it.If you are "buying" a PS status, then you have to learn it, otherwise you are just a scam, and scams dont survive.
Have you ever watched how many visitors does your auction have? Have you ever thought, why do they leave? What can you do, to make more profit, if you are not the only one who is selling that item? Visit http://proauctionlistings.blogspot.com/

eBay Millions wrote:Hi,

I am a power seller. The easiest way to become one is to sell more than 100 items per month. It doesn't matter of the value of these items, sell 100 ebooks for a penny and you now qualify to become a PS.

Where are you getting your information? Last time I checked becoming a PowerSeller requires minimum sales requirements:
$1,000 for Bronze,
$3,000 for Silver,
$10,000 for Gold,
$25,000 for Platinum, and
$150,000 for Titanium

Attaining a bronze level PowerSeller status on eBay isn't all that difficult to do -- when you break down the numbers you'll see you only need around $35 a day in gross sales for 90 days. Of course, if you don't sell $35 in one day, then you'll have to make it up on another day. But it illustrates how little you really need to sell. Imagine now if you can sell $350 in sales a day -- that's $10,000 in sales a month, $120,000 annually and very doable.

Also, eBay banned digital products March 31, 2008 -- so you can no longer become a PowerSeller from eBooks on eBay!

Kind regards,

I would like to be a powerseller BUT I also want to make money so selling 100 1-cent items won't cut it for me. I would rather make a profit.

If I was a powerseller, I would be an honest one though!
