I am so frustrated at this point! I see other people here have had issues with the same seller. They run two stores, an eBay shop and a website:

http://longislandguitarparts.com

I have ordered from them in the past, both through eBay and the web store, but it seems lately they are just ripping people off. I placed an order for $173 worth of stuff, including a Bigsby B70 tremolo ($85 of the total!). They sent me an arbitrary $44 refund against my total but didn't ship the two most expensive parts!

The Bigsby and a selector switch never came. Between the missing parts, the taxes paid, and the shipping overcharge (the shipping price didn't change even though 90% of the weight wasn't included!) they should have refunded me closer to $110. As I see it, they still owe me $66, but I'm sure I'll never get it.

They are charging NYS sales tax even though they are located in South Carolina and they don't have a storefront in NYS. Want to bet they're not paying that money back to NYS? I'm filing a complaint with the NYS Attorney General and tax department today, as well.

Their phone number, on file with PayPal(!), is disconnected: 803.661.5984.

They don't answer emails after a week of trying: ="mailto:scmusic@gmail.com">scmusic@gmail.com, ="mailto:scmusicparts@gmail.com">scmusicparts@gmail.com, ="mailto:mez1962@gmail.com">mez1962@gmail.com

I filed a claim with PayPal - watch out for them too! They told me they only protect a buyer when it's non-receipt. I explained that this WAS A CASE of non-receipt. They said they only offer non-receipt protection when each item is purchased separately! They also claim they only offer buyer protection if you purchase goods through eBay.

Nevermind the fact that they tout seller protection everywhere you look...both PayPal and Pin-Up Music Parts do!

After repeated attempts, I did finally get through to someone there and they refunded the rest of my money. I didn't like how long it took or how hard it was, but at the end of the day, they did the right thing. I think they are growing too fast, so watch out for these types of growing pain issues, but I am content with the resolution.

Thanks for the heads up slaveone! There seem to be quite a number of reports or complaints against them when I tried Googling them. Although, personally I am not that familiar with them. But its sad how things turned out for you..

Yes, PayPal's buyer protection program is good only when you purchase products on eBay but outside eBay you are pretty much on your own and PayPal functions just as a third party payments processor. That is why it is ideal to link your PayPal account to your credit card instead of directly to your bank account. In doing so you can override PayPal and go directly to you credit card provider to request a chargeback should anything go wrong.

But there have been recent developments to PayPal's buyer protection program, PayPal UK recently announced that they are extending their buyer protection program outside eBay. For more details please visit this link:

Cheers :)
