Hi All

Great forum

When searching for bargains on ebay, I invariably come up with lots of listings from Trades, Wholesalers, Dropshippers. Whilst their prices are usually good, i'd like to find the bargains from the little people who are just emptying their spare rooms, etc.

How would people feel about ebay having 2 specific listing sections.
One for All Traders and One for the private lister.

Isn't it easy to tell business/private sellers apart from the quality of their listings, amount of listing and don't most traders register as business sellers anyway.

Splitting up the listings would make it harder for newbies to use the site imo.

I personally think that's a really great idea because I was one of the 'little guys' on ebay. I think while ebay really tries to enforce regulations, this would definately be something that people could lie about. I think ebay has been oversaturated by the traders, and while it's great for them, it's hard for the little guys.

I am aware that any system is open to abuse. However if we were directed to 2 sections, One called ebay and One called eboot, then we could still get the bargains that the Traders do offer ( I'm not knocking them i've bought some good value stuff off them). In the eboot section you could buy off people who were genuienly just clearing their garage / attic, and are prepared to auction off just to get rid. Yes Traders would deal in the section, but might not want to due to profit margins.
At present I just feel that looking for the true bargain, I am swamped by Wholesalers, Dropshippers, etc.
I realise it's to big to change, it's just an opinion

The real problem with eBay is the fact that too many people are selling at a loss - to build up a client base, and sell-on other products / services.

This is what really causes problems, as I have even seen many wholesalers selling at wholesale prices (or below).

Find yourself a nice small niche market, make a name for yourself, and build on your reputation. That’s the way to success.

I guess i'll have to accept that ebay ain't going to change.
Read lots about the 'niche' market.
It appears as elusive as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

I am still that "little guy." I sold ebooks and some stuff from home before. I don't want to be that little guy anymore so I'm thinking of ways.

I highly doubt that Ebay would change. So it's better for me to change.

I am to a little guy that sells on ebay, more for a hobby then anything else, I enjoy it and do it for fun and am often surprised at how well my auctions go for, my advice is find something you enjoy and learn it the best you can and take lots and lots of pictures.

Larger photo amounts as well as non stock photos of product are definate ebay turn-ons.

I have seen a lot of individuals raise questions as to how to come out of eBay as not being the "little guy" anymore. Well the thing about it is that a lot of sellers are just looking for some hot buy in electronics, or something to that aspect when they really do not know about the want it nows.

eBay has this awesome feature that kind of works like a classified section where it gives the typical ebayer a spot to post what exactly that they are looking to buy!!! Talk about easy...I have sold a couple of different items using this section...
