No - someone pays you to put the link on your site.

When you say "selling links on eBay" ... what do you mean?

1.) Selling Back Links? Selling one-way back links is something many Web site owners are interested in having. I've purchased a $1 back link out of curiousity for one of my sites and it did show up in my Alexa ranking. I was thinking of selling my own back links, but it would be a manual nightmare. If there is some way to automate this process, please somebody write me! I'm interested in buying lots of $1 one-way back links -- because if you have at least 100 of them it certainly does build your rank scores.

2.) Selling courtesy Links to another Web site? I've been charging a courtesy fee for quick link to juicy Web site of special interest to eBay sellers. In testing it seems people will pay $1 even when they know it's a link to another free Web site. My theory is that people will pay you even if they know they can get the information for free if it's something so juicy they want it now. For just a buck they don't have to waste their time trying to find the damn site. For $1 buck, I hand it to them on a silver platter. I don't make much money, but it's building Web traffic for my site.

Either way, you can use the Classified advertising system. If you think you will recover the $9.95 monthly fee. Technically digital products like selling back links or courtesy links.

All the best to you,

Not a bad idea... I own a few websites, can I pay someone to link to me on there? Normally I just use adwords/adsense.

Forums are much better places to sell your links. Digitalpoint is one of the best IMO. Sell items rather than services on Ebay and you'll do great.

Digitalpoint is a good forum to sell links on, if your lazy like me you can use text link ads to sell them for you in exchange for a 50% commission.

Google penalizes paid links. Besides there are plenty of other free way to get links (http://www.oogletoogle.com). I think you money would be best spend elsewhere
