As many will now know, Ebay have removed the home page featured upgrade. Will any sellers miss it? I used it on a number of occasions over the years, but found it brought little in the way of extra exposure - generally a waste of money :(

I only used it once. Was disappointing.

I'm not sure why they removed the option though. One would think this would be a great source of revenue for them, whether there were results or not. Maybe they had some complaints about the lack of activity that resulted from this expenditure.

It cost about £50 though? That's a fair old chunk of Fee to absorb in the selling price!

I'd be interested to know what the return rate was compared to a normal category featured listing. I, and many other I know, have the eBay Summary page saved as a favourite or IE homepage, and not the main front page of ebay. I'm not sure it was the most effective place for targetted publicity.

What's always got me is while the UK home page option use to cost £50, the US equivalent is just $39.95. Personally I'd have thought the US one would have got a lot more exposure for your item.

If I was selling digital items, I'd be more likely to try the US version than the UK.
